What is it about? High school student Shin’ichi encounters a parasite. They normally invade the brains of humans and take over their host. However, Shin’ichi manages to sever his arm so that the parasite can only nest there.
Over time, the two learn to enter a symbiosis. The parasite develops its own intelligence and turns Shin’ichi’s life upside down. Eventually, both of them care deeply about surviving.
Why does the anime deserve a sequel? Although the anime has adapted the entire manga and received a nice ending, it would be interesting to know how the coexistence of humans and parasites turns out.
A sequel could show what the world looks like in 50 years. This could apply to many animes, but especially with the philosophical question of who exactly the monster is here, such a future scenario would be interesting.
