Outlook for May 2020
In May, alongside the games we recommend, there will be additional highlights to look forward to. Among them, the release of a completely new game and a major MMORPG expansion.
ESO – Release of Greymoor
What is ESO? The Elder Scrolls Online is one of the best theme park MMORPGs in the West and emphasizes accessibility. You can explore the entire world without level restrictions and experience most content as a single player.
The combination of the Elder Scrolls story and the freedom in the areas makes it currently a successful MMORPG, which recently had to increase server capacities in Europe.
What happens in May? On May 26, the new expansion Greymoor will be released, taking you to western Skyrim and the Blackreach, familiar areas from Skyrim.
With the expansion, new features will also arrive, such as the antiquities system, a new trial, and mythic gear.
Crucible – Release of the Shooter
What is Crucible? Crucible is Amazon’s new shooter. It is essentially a battle royale where 12 characters fight for survival in an arena, but only one can win.
Additionally, there is a 13th player, the Game Master, who can influence the events and trigger situations.
What happens in May? Although very little is currently known about the shooter Crucible, it is set to be released in May. No exact date has been provided.
You should definitely keep your eyes and ears open if you’re interested in a new shooter. The game has been in development since at least 2016, when it was first mentioned by Amazon.
Apex Legends – Start of Season 5
What is Apex Legends? Apex Legends is a mix of hero shooter and battle royale. The game revolves around survival, with the battlefield gradually shrinking over time. The setting is based on the Titanfall universe and takes place approximately 30 years after the first title.
Apex Legends is exclusively multiplayer. Using various heroes and weapons from a first-person perspective, you aim to eliminate your opponents and win the match. It is one of the MMOs that positively surprised us at MeinMMO in 2019.
What happens in May? The current season in Apex Legends runs until May 12, after which it will directly transition to Season 5. This will bring a new battle pass and likely other changes that have not yet been revealed.
MeinMMO author Benedict Grothaus has closely examined Apex Legends and will tell you whether the shooter is still worth playing in 2020.
