Remnant: From the Ashes – Coop Shooter
Genre: Shooter | Developer: Gunfire Games| Platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One | Release Date: August 20, 2019 | Model: Buy2Play
What is Remnant: From the Ashes? The shooter was the surprise hit in summer 2019 on Steam and has been constantly expanded since then. In this coop shooter, you complete randomly generated levels and fight against hideous plant monsters.
Throughout the game, you shoot and slash your way through various monsters along with up to two players against really tough bosses. These are genuinely hard to defeat, and therefore, Remnant is often compared to hardcore games like Dark Souls.
These are the highlights of Remnant: From the Ashes
Remnant: From the Ashes is a Buy2Play title, but it offers a lot of content for its price:
- A comfortable multiplayer experience, even for players with different levels, as damage values are adjusted
- High replayability through procedurally generated worlds
- Weapons, armors, and mods play differently and invite experimentation. Certain builds can achieve extremely powerful effects.
- Varied worlds with different biomes
- Excellent balancing between most equipment pieces. Each weapon and armor can shine in certain situations.
- Smaller puzzles and unexpected twists enhance the gameplay experience
However, you will need to pay for new expansions. The first DLC “Swamps of Corsus” costs 9.99 Euros on Steam, but it also brought a completely new game mode.
Why should you play Remnant in August?
On August 20, the second DLC called “Subject 2923,” which MeinMMO editor Jürgen Horn has already extensively presented, will be released. This continues the game’s story, which starts about a year after the end of the main campaign.
The DLC primarily brings new enemies, traits, armors and weapons. Although the update does not contain a new mode, newcomers can start directly with the new story if desired.
