What is Dauntless? The free action-RPG Dauntless resembles Monster Hunter, as your task is to defeat threatening monsters and use their remains to craft better equipment.
You can team up with up to two players to hunt together. You will encounter difficult to defeat creatures. Team play and cooperation are essential to attacking the monsters’ weak spots and defeating them.
These are the highlights of Dauntless
In Dauntless, fights against bosses and collecting new equipment play a significant role. It’s basically “Looting and Leveling – The Game.” However, there is much to do in the game:
- You can hunt more than 30 different Behemoths, each with different levels and abilities
- There is various equipment, and depending on the Behemoth, you must adapt it
- Behemoths can also be hunted in smaller groups or alone. While this doesn’t make the bosses harder, as they scale dynamically, you’ll sometimes lack important abilities.
- In the future, the action-RPG is also expected to shift more towards MMO.
Why should you play Dauntless in August?
In June, Dauntless received the huge update “Call of the Void,” which MeinMMO author Benedict Grothaus tested as part of Find Your Next Game. This was especially interesting for newcomers as a training island was introduced, where all weapon types are available.
On July 30, the follow-up update was already released, which destroyed the great city of Ramsgate and released new content. If you haven’t played Dauntless after the June update, you might want to check it out again in August.
