Final Fantasy XIV – MMORPG
Genre: MMORPG | Developer: Square Enix | Platform: PC, PS4 | Release Date: August 27, 2013| Model: Pay2Play
What kind of game is this? Final Fantasy XIV is a game from Japan and has become one of the most popular MMORPGs among us. The major overhaul of the game has changed a lot since 2013, and many contents await players with regular content updates and expansions like Shadowbringers.
The MMORPG resembles classic Japanese RPGs, due to its strong focus on the story. Endgame offers many tricky raids and quests. The combat system relies on classic tab-targeting but is not among the most modern and action-packed on the market.
These are the highlights of Final Fantasy XIV
Final Fantasy XIV offers pretty much everything an MMORPG heart desires:
- A huge game world
- Various classes (called jobs here) and playable races
- Much focus on the story
- A deep crafting system
- Many dungeons and raids with varying difficulty levels
Why should you play FFXIV in August?
On August 11, the major update 5.3, which includes the new story, a raid, dungeons and boss fights will be released. However, the .3 patches are special because they bring the story of an expansion towards completion and initiate a new story.
In addition to the new content, the MMORPG significantly adjusts the entry for new players. With the patch, the free trial will be expanded. The following will be free to use:
- All jobs and classes up to level 60, including the Heavensward jobs Astrologian, Dark Knight and Machinist
- 6 playable races
- All story and side quests up to patch 3.55 just before the addon Stormblood
- Access to raids Bahamut, Crystal Tower, Nothing-Arch and Alexander
- Access to all 49 dungeons of A Realm Reborn and Heavensward
That is a whole lot of content. Additionally, some old quests will be adjusted so that they do not negatively impact the gameplay flow and the entry experience.
Starting August 11, it is worth diving into Final Fantasy XIV.
