Next weekend the big Pokémon GO Fest 2020 starts. We provide you with useful tips on how to prepare yourself in the best possible way.
When does the GO Fest take place? This paid event runs on July 25 and 26, each day from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time.
To successfully master the total of 20 hours, some preparations are needed. We show you what to pay attention to.
The most important preparations for the GO Fest
Collect balls diligently: The most important items at the GO Fest are Poké Balls. Without balls, you cannot catch Pokémon and cannot play the event properly.
If you plan to play the full 20 hours, you should have at least 1000 to 1500 balls in reserve each day. While walking around, you will spin PokéStops again, but in the end, there won’t be as many balls as you will discard.
Especially important are the Ultra and Hyper Balls. With them, you can catch Pokémon with high CP more easily.
So be frugal with the balls right now and replenish them diligently. You can do this well with the gifts from friends. Currently, many balls are included there. Alternatively, you can specifically spin ball rounds. Walk where there are many PokéStops and try to use only a few balls.
Clear out your bag: Those who want to collect balls need an empty bag. Especially throw away the items that you cannot use for the GO Fest.
Many potions and revives are therefore not beneficial. You also don’t need hundreds of berries. Invest your saved candy into Pokémon so that they disappear from your inventory as well.
You should also leave some space in your bag when the GO Fest starts. There will be some items as a reward and your bag should not be full right away.
Clear out your Pokémon box: If you continuously catch Pokémon, you can easily catch over 3000 monsters during the weekend. The Pokémon also need space in your box.
So it’s best to create at least 500 spaces in your box now. This way, you won’t have to sort out directly all the time and can catch for a few hours in peace.
At the GO Fest, you can easily select all Pokémon with a maximum of 2 stars using the search command “0*,1*,2*” and quickly send them away.
Prepare a route in advance: Playing the GO Fest in your small village is certainly not the best decision. Therefore, drive to a nearby town and play there diligently.
Ideally, prepare a route to effectively catch many Pokémon. You can then run this route repeatedly and grab plenty of spawns.
We also don’t recommend playing in a completely new city for you. This could lead to confusion, and you also won’t know the spawns that well.
Make plans with friends: Walking around alone for 20 hours can be quite sobering. Therefore, make plans with friends to play together. Set a fixed time beforehand to avoid chaos during the event.
However, keep in mind that there are still contact restrictions due to the coronavirus. Please respect these and do not meet with too many fellow players.
Prepare your technology: Power bank, charger, and a fully charged phone are essential for the GO Fest. Have all these things ready so that you are as well prepared as possible.
Charge your devices the night before and store them in a backpack. You should also have enough food and drink with you so that you do not have to worry about it during the event.
What else should you know? The GO Fest is a paid event and a ticket can be purchased for 17 euros. Only then can you benefit from all the bonuses.
