What is RAW? RAW was supposed to be a sandbox MMORPG that resembled GTA Online. You were meant to forge your own path in the vast open world. Whether you acted as a police officer, wished to be a truck driver, or ran a gas station was entirely up to you.
You could also be a gangster and engage in chases and shootouts with the police.
How has the development progressed so far? In summer 2019, the Kickstarter campaign began, which drew significant attention. The concept of RAW evidently struck a chord with players. They liked the idea of getting a kind of GTA MMORPG and actively supported the funding.
However, doubts arose about whether such a small team could handle such an extensive project with such a limited budget. There were also inconsistencies in the imprint of the website, and when the developers stated that they saw the Kickstarter funds only as a start for funding, the crowdfunding was unexpectedly terminated. According to Kickstarter, Killerwhale Games violated the guidelines.
Subsequent exchanges between the developers and players questioning the project’s authenticity led to silence.
Why might the release never happen? After the collapse of the Kickstarter campaign, nothing more was heard from Killerwhale Games and RAW. They mentioned trying to obtain funding through Indiegogo, but this has not happened so far. It seems that the project has been abandoned.
