What kind of list is this? Shooters can be distinguished by the mobility of your characters. While you may be somewhat slow and cumbersome in some games, in others you can quickly run, jump, and slide across the map – just like in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
That’s why we have listed 7 PvP shooters that focus on fast and flexible movement. However, we didn’t want to limit the list to classic arena shooters, but rather expand the selection and introduce you to generally fast shooters. You can then choose a subgenre that you like.
What defines fast movement?
There is no scale or fixed value indicating how fast the movement in a game is. Therefore, we looked at the various shooters on the market and compared their movement based on different criteria. Our points of criticism included:
- How fast does the character run compared to other shooters?
- Are there movement techniques like jumping, sliding, dropshotting, or diving?
- Are there gadgets like grappling hooks that enhance movement?
- How fluid is the movement? Can I transition directly from a sprint into a slide, for example?
Titanfall 2
What kind of game is this?
- The core of Titanfall consists of the so-called Titans. These are large, heavily armed combat machines that, for example, are equipped with huge shotguns or even miniguns.
- The Titans are controlled by human pilots inside. As players, you take control of the pilots and thus also the Titans in certain situations.
- Outside the Titans, Titanfall 2 is mainly known for the fast movement of the pilots.
- In addition to the PvP mode, Titanfall 2 also has a campaign of about 10 hours long.
Even though the enumeration is not a ranking, Titanfall 2 must of course be at the top of a list of movement shooters.
What makes the movement special? The movements of the individual pilots are generally fast and are made even more flexible by grappling hooks and wallruns. To this day, the movement of Titanfall 2 is considered one of the best of all time.
The Finals
What kind of game is this?
- The Finals is an arena shooter that allows you to collect money in a virtual gameshow. The team that collects the most money wins.
- There are three classes: light, medium, and heavy, which differ not only in stature and movement speed but also in their choice of weapons, abilities, and gadgets.
- An important aspect of The Finals is the enormous destructibility of the maps. You can almost completely tear down a variety of buildings.
What makes the movement special? The Finals has the basics of a movement shooter like jumping and sliding, but also has abilities and gadgets that enhance movement.
The light class can equip a grappling hook or a dash, for instance. The medium class has a zipline or a jump pad available. The heavy class can lift gravity in a certain area or simply charge through walls with a powerful rush.

Apex Legends
What kind of game is this?
- Apex Legends is a battle royale that takes place in the same universe as Titanfall.
- Although there are no Titans, you control various legends, each with different abilities.
- You fight against up to 60 players for victory in the battle royale. All use the various abilities of the playable legends to their strategic advantage.
What makes the movement special? The movement in Apex Legends is very reminiscent of its cousin Titanfall 2. Although there are no wall runs, switching between sprinting, sliding, and jumping just feels extremely good.
In addition, some of the playable legends have abilities that directly influence movement. For example, Pathfinder has a grappling hook and a zipline, Octane has a jump pad, and Valkyrie has a jetpack.
