Online games often struggle with cheaters and hackers of all kinds, especially when played competitively against others. Some cheaters use programs, while others find alternative ways to cheat. We at MeinMMO have highlighted 6 cheaters who have cheated and were caught live.
This list includes 6 cheaters who brazenly cheated and were filmed doing so. However, this is not a witch hunt against these individuals, but rather to showcase the curious situations and brazen ways in which cheating occurred.
Moreover, cheaters are not always just “evil Russians,” but also the nice player next door who appears to be “perfectly normal” and even plays in professional tournaments.
forsaken – CS:GO
Who is it about? The CS:GO professional Nikhil “forsaken” Kumawat was part of the clan OpTic India. They participated in the eXTREMESLAND Asia tournament, where the incident occurred.
What happened? In the middle of a match, the tournament was unexpectedly paused and forsaken’s computer was examined. An aimbot was discovered, a program that automatically aims at opponents.
The player was subsequently disqualified from the tournament and later kicked out of the OpTic India team.
What was particularly curious? During the inspection of the PC, forsaken tried to access the keyboard and simply close the aimbot. He likely wanted to cover up his offense.
Curiously, this exact moment was captured by a camera.
truegatter – CoD Warzone
Who is it about? The streamer “truegatter” began his career on Twitch in September by playing Call of Duty: Warzone.
What happened? In a 90-minute stream, truegatter eliminated quite a few enemies. In a solo round, he had a relaxed victory and racked up a total of 40 kills.
What was particularly curious? The streamer drew attention to himself mainly because he brazenly used cheats and saw no problem with it.
In the voice chat, one of his friends asked him: “Why are you cheating? For what?” His dry response: “I set it up today and just want to see what it’s like.”
His behavior seems to have had no consequences on Twitch at least. The channel has not been banned so far. truegatter is still playing CoD Modern Warfare. However, it is not known whether his original account has been banned and if it is now a new one.
Woong – League of Legends
Who is it about? This case is about Jang “Woong” Gun-woong and the entire Korean team Azubu Frost in League of Legends. They faced the American Team SoloMid in a match during the 2012 World Championship, which incidentally failed miserably this year.
What happened? In the match, one of the players from Azubu Frost looked at the big monitor behind him – where the game was being broadcast. Therefore, he knew exactly where the opposing players were and communicated this to his teammates.
This method was, of course, forbidden, which had also been communicated to the players beforehand.
What was particularly curious? The moment when the player looks at the video wall was captured by a camera. Moreover, he pinged TSM’s position in-game, which he actually couldn’t have known.
Azubu Frost had to pay a $30,000 fine for this action.
You can find 3 more cheaters on page 2 of the article.
