The battle royale game H1Z1: King of the Kill aims to make a name in eSports by founding the H1Z1 Pro League. There, players are set to receive a minimum wage of $50,000 without additional fees.
H1Z1: King of the Kill has already achieved initial successes in eSports. Along with Twin Galaxies, a tournament was held where there was a total prize pool of $300,000 and $180,000 for the winning team alone.
The initiative seemed to be a success, as the developers at Daybreak now want to – again in collaboration with Twin Galaxies – establish their own pro league for H1Z1: King of the Kill.
H1Z1 Pro League – High prizes without fees?
In the upcoming H1Z1: King of the Kill Pro League, the following parameters will apply:
- A total of 15 teams of 5 players each are allowed to participate
- Each player will receive at least $50,000 as minimum salary for the duration of the tournament
- There will also be a detailed “Player Bill of Rights” for the players
- There will be shares of the tournament revenue for the players
- Matches in the tournament will consist of 75 players each and will take place over two periods of 10 weeks
- According to Daybreak, there will be no fees or entry costs for the players
Participation in the H1Z1 Pro League will be handled through an unspecified participation process. However, there should be no fees for participation. This puts the H1Z1 league in contrast to Blizzard’s Overwatch professional league, where players receive $50,000 salary, but allegedly demand a $20,000 franchise fee.
The H1Z1 Pro League starts in spring 2018 and ends towards the end of the year. At the Twitch Con on October 20 in California, there will be private information meetings for interested players.
