In the Steam market, incredibly high sums are paid for mini-skirts in PUBG . We show you the most popular and expensive items.
A few days ago, the battle royale shooter “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” was updated and received some paid cosmetic items in this update. These visual enhancements are to be used as a kind of “test” for a crate and key system.
On the Steam market, prices for these cosmetics quickly skyrocketed.
A (digital) skirt for almost $500? Sure, why not?
The test run with the cosmetic items is intended to prepare PUBG for a crate and key system that will be activated when the game exits early access. Many players are upset because, although it’s only temporary, the paid items contradict a statement from the head. He first stated that players would not be asked to spend money on the game before it leaves early access.
Two of the three new crates added to the game can be purchased with Battle Points. You earn these by playing the game. The third “Gamescom Invitational” crate can also be purchased with BP but requires a key to open. The keys, however, cost $2.50.
Each crate offers various items that are categorized into rarity levels. In the screenshot above, you see these levels – red is particularly rare, green is common. The interesting part: Items from the crates can be sold and bought for real money on the Steam market.
After the first few days, several particularly hot items emerged:
- The purple (or is it pink?) mini-skirt from the Survivor crate, which is traded for nearly $500
- The blue hotpants from the Wanderer crate, priced at about $340.
Other popular items include the PUBG bandana for about $400 and the PUBG trench coat, which is priced at about $295.
Such high prices are not uncommon in the Steam market. Other digital items, such as those in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, are also sold for a lot of money. Knives and special skins for sniper rifles can go for a relaxed $1800 on the Steam market.
Those who buy such expensive items should better not cheat. The automatic anti-cheat system diligently sorts out PUBG players.
