Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire has been out for half a year and the second episode of the Living World has been released. What wishes does the player base have for ArenaNet? What features should be introduced soon, at the latest with the next addon?
We have gathered opinions from the communities about what features are still missing in Guild Wars 2, and selected 5 frequently mentioned wishes. One wish, that Guild Wars 2 should deliver better long-term motivation, runs through all five requests.

Wish 1: Housing for Guild Wars 2
Why is this wish frequently mentioned? If you compile a list of desired features for every existing MMORPG, the same word appears on all: Housing.
In World of Warcraft, it has been requested for over a decade, WildStar had it from the start, The Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV implemented it at the request of the player base. Guild Wars 2 did not.
The current status: Instead of private houses for players, guild halls have been introduced. These are similar to housing. There are different places, decorations to place, and even buildings can be constructed. It is more than just a single house.
However, they are reserved for guilds. You can create your own guild quickly – and be a member of others simultaneously – but you have to fight for the hall first. These areas are unattainable for the casual player.

Wish 2: Fishing
Why is this wish frequently mentioned? What may be the least important activity for some is for others a relaxing pastime of an MMO. To bridge waiting times, or because one is currently just chatting and can engage in an additional activity. Collectors of achievements or unique items benefit just like the RP community from the social component of fishing.
The current status: Armed with a harpoon or spear, we can fight against fish thanks to underwater combat. There is even a type of boat thanks to the buoyancy rocks, with which we can “sail” out to the inaccessible sea.
Admittedly, these things do not completely replace classical fishing.

Wish 3: Saveable Builds
Why is this wish frequently mentioned? There is always a reason to switch builds. In instances, a different skill setup or equipment is used than in the open world. In the open world, it then depends on whether you are playing solo or in a group, whether the event boss should be approached better with ranged or melee attacks. Additionally, there is PvP, for which you also want to optimize your build.
The current status: There are separate save slots for PvE and PvP. These can only be changed in the corresponding mode. Therefore, the PvP setup cannot be adjusted in the PvE area. And even then, only the currently active build is saved; for everything else, we have to rely on external sites.

Wish 4: Queues
Why is this wish frequently mentioned? In the past, everything was better, and some people long for the queues of the GDR era; in Great Britain, standing in a queue has even been elevated to a culture. However, a more likely reason is that people just want to avoid unnecessary clicks when trying to enter a full map.
The current status: When we want to join a friend’s map to participate in an event together, if the map is full, we only receive a message that the instance is overcrowded. The result is that we have to repeatedly attempt this process until we gain access. With a queue, not only do we save this effort, but we also have an estimate of how long it will take until we can enter the zone.

Wish 5: Quest Editor
Why is this wish frequently mentioned? When the community develops their own quests, it leads to a practically endless supply of content for the entire player base. This wish is based on the Foundry system from Star Trek Online and Neverwinter. With it, a scenario can be created, with individual characters, dialogues, and environments.
There are also rewards for both sides. In Neverwinter, for example, the player is rewarded with Astral Diamonds, which can be converted into the real-money currency ZEN. The creator of the mission levels up and receives titles, companions, and mounts.
The current status: Instanced scenarios encounter us throughout the personal story and the living world. Small areas where only we alone or as a group can experience a story. The technical requirements are thus given, but an editor is still missing.
Do these 5 wishes from the community for Guild Wars 2 also meet your needs? Or do you wish for something completely different?
