Oneshot-Builds help you kill enemies in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone before they can even react. They are accordingly powerful and popular, but not every weapon can do this. MeinMMO presents you with 5 weapons with setups that allow you to take down enemies with just one shot.
What are Oneshot-Builds? Our builds are not about the strongest weapons of each category, but about those weapons that can kill with one shot. This means your damage is so high that it immediately reduces the opponent’s hit points to 0, even if they were previously full.
All of these builds work in both the multiplayer modes of Modern Warfare as well as in Warzone. However, not all on the list can achieve hard one-hits in Battle Royale. We are only looking at the softcore variants, as many weapons are lethal in the hardcore mode of MW anyway.
By the way, most of these weapons are not necessarily “meta”. So if you are looking for some variety in your play style and want to try out new builds, take a look at these options.
For all weapons, however, you should be able to aim reasonably well, as you rely on headshots. The aim training for Modern Warfare as well as the aim training for Warzone from the experts will help you with this.
Oneshot-Assault Rifle: CR-56 AMAX
This is how you build the setup:
- Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
- Optic: any optic, we recommend VLK 3.0x sight
- Stock: CR-56 EXO
- Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip or Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Ammunition: M67 10-Round Magazine
What makes it strong? The CR-56 is one of the few assault rifles that can kill with one shot. With the special magazine, it deals enough damage to down enemies with a headshot immediately and fires semi-automatically by default. As long as your enemy is not wearing armor plates or you are playing in multiplayer, you will knock down enemies with one hit.
With the optic and the barrel, you have enough range to compete with DMRs. The stock and the Commando Foregrip give you the necessary stability when aiming and if you need to follow up shots. The underbarrel attachment is one of the best attachments for better aiming.
In Warzone, however, you should be a bit careful, as you have a very limited magazine with only 10 shots. If you can’t reliably hit the opponent, that could quickly become a disadvantage.
These alternatives exist: The more well-known oneshot assault rifle is the FAL, which also fires semi-automatically but ranks behind the CR-56 AMAX in the popularity ranking of all assault rifles.
Despite a recent nerf of the FAL, it is still strong and a good alternative to the oneshot CR-56. The advantage of the FAL is that it comes standard with a larger magazine and you can save yourself the ammunition attachment for it. However, it is a bit harder to control and does not have as much range as the CR-56.
Oneshot-DMR: Kar98k
This is how you build the setup:
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″
- Optic: Target Scope, VLK 3.0x Scope or 4.0x Hybrid Scope – depending on preference and use
- Stock: FTAC Sport Comb
- Ammunition: Patterned Grip Tape
What makes it strong? The Kar98k is already one of the best weapons for Warzone and can efficiently kill with a headshot even at long distances. Its range is greater than that of all DMRs and can even compete with sniper rifles.
Since April, the Kar98k may even be the best sniper rifle in Warzone. Its strength lies in the fact that it is as strong as sniper rifles, but significantly more mobile. You can follow up on missed shots faster and engage multiple targets more efficiently.
With the different optics, it can be used for medium, medium to long, and long distances and its high bullet speed even outperforms sniper rifles. However, hits must count. Because at longer ranges, hits to limbs or below the chest deal hardly any damage – only headshots and chest hits are where the Kar really shines.
These alternatives exist: The Mk2 Carbine, as the best weapon in its category, is a strong alternative to the Kar98k. Like the Kar, the lever-action rifle is also a oneshot weapon in multiplayer, but for Warzone you need 2 hits.
With a higher rate of fire and faster reload time, the Mk2 performs slightly better for multiplayer than the Kar. However, the Kar gives a better sniper feeling. Both weapons can kill an opponent without armor even in the torso with one shot.
Oneshot-Sniper: HDR
This is how you build the setup:
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: 26.9″ HDR Pro
- Laser: Tactical Laser
- Stock: FTAC Champion (better for Warzone) or FTAC Stalker-Scout (better for Multiplayer)
- Ammunition: 9-Round Magazine or any optic if you don’t like the default optic
What makes it strong? Like all “bolt action” sniper rifles, the HDR can kill enemies with one shot to the head at long distances in Warzone, even in the torso without armor. With the Champion stock, you gear up for more precise aiming at long distances, while the Stalker stock increases your ADS speed for faster aiming.
With the attachments, you build fully for range and can still kill enemies immediately at many dozens of meters. However, be aware that at greater distances you are dependent on the bullet speed stat.
A major advantage is the already strong built-in sniper scope. You don’t need to change the optic to play well with the HDR. Although it is a bit bulkier than that of the AX-50, it is more than sufficient for good shooters.
These alternatives exist: Both the AX-50 and the Rytec AMR are good alternatives to the HDR, although the Rytec has slightly less range. Only the Dragunov stands out a bit among the snipers because its damage output is simply not competitive with the others.
The HDR is best suited along with the Rytec for “true” sniper gameplay at the longest distances. The AX-50, on the other hand, is better suited for more mobile snipers who rely on quickscoping.
If you want to improve with the weapons, you can find tips in our special Tips for Snipers in Warzone.
Oneshot-Pistol .50 GS
This is how you build the setup:
- Barrel: FORGE TAC Executioner
- Optic: Mini Reflex Sight Solozero
- Trigger: Quality Trigger
- Ammunition: 10-Round Magazine or Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Grip: Patterned Grip Tape
What makes it strong? With the right attachments, the .50 GS can be deadly at medium distances. A headshot with it can kill instantly at up to 15 meters, at least with a maximum of 2 armor plates.
What makes the “Desert Eagle” particularly strong is the fact that it is a pistol. You can draw and fire it faster than any other secondary weapon, surprising opponents when your magazine is empty.
Additionally, you can even use it in “Akimbo”, meaning two weapons at once at the cost of accuracy. If you prefer to play the gunslinger, you can intimidate opponents with it, even if they don’t instantly die.
These alternatives exist: Like the .50 GS, the .357 can also kill instantly with one shot in multiplayer. It even has a longer range, but is considerably slower and has an even higher recoil, making it less accurate.
You can even turn the .357 into a Hand Shotgun if you like. Which of the two weapons you prefer is entirely up to you.
Oneshot-Shotgun: R9-0
This is how you build the setup:
- Muzzle: Choke
- Barrel: FORGE TAC Defense
- Optic: Marksman Reflex Sight (or another optic of your preference)
- Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
- Ammunition: Slug Rounds

What makes it strong? With this build, you forgo the wide spread of shotgun pellets and the strength at close range and instead build for range. With the choke and the slug rounds, you can easily kill opponents at several meters.
The barrel helps further increase your range. With the optic and the foregrip, you will still be accurate at your target even with a second shot.
The R9-0 also has the advantage that you can fire two shots in quick succession. If you hit both, you can even take down fully armored Warzone soldiers with it. In multiplayer, the second shot gives you a good chance to follow up if the first shot has not convinced the opponent to go down.
These alternatives exist: Basically, any shotgun that uses slug rounds and ideally a choke works here. With this combo, the 725 was even a feared sniper rifle in the past.
In Warzone, the armor of opponents often gets in the way, but in multiplayer, you can easily kill your opponents even over a long corridor with the shotguns.
If oneshot builds annoy you or if you are looking for something to defend yourself with, take a look at the MP7. The SMG has some advantages. With a crazy setup for Modern Warfare and Warzone, the MP7 gives you advantages against almost all weapons – even from the hip.
