5 Tips to Level Up the Season Pass in Fallout 76 Faster

5 Tips to Level Up the Season Pass in Fallout 76 Faster

Since update 20, Fallout 76 has its first season pass, where you can earn dozens of rewards. However, there is criticism that you would need to play a lot to do so. But with the right tricks, it goes much faster. Some players are already almost done. MyMMO shows you how to quickly get through “The Legendary Race”.

What are these tricks? To reach higher levels in the season pass, you need S.C.O.R.E. This is a new system that was introduced with update 20 and the first season. You earn points for:

  • daily challenges
  • weekly challenges
  • collecting experience points (repeatable)

The last point is the most important. This is a repeatable challenge where you get 100 S.C.O.R.E for collecting 10,000 XP. This is where you can really farm. The tricks will help you get experience points faster.

What good does this do me? By leveling up, you will reach over 100 rewards in the season pass, which include skins, C.A.M.P. items, and materials. Some are nice gimmicks, but often also useful items like the ammunition converter.

The “Captain Cosmos” power armor is one of the later rewards.

Some players have pointed out in particular that you need to invest a lot of time to complete the season pass. If you only do the daily challenges, the 10 weeks that the season lasts may be too short if you miss even a day.

However, through efficient XP farming, you can make up for many levels or even complete the pass within a few days. Some players report that they are already at level 78 out of 100 with the tricks.

Basically, by stacking all possible buffs, you roughly get +100% experience points at all times and up to +300% under certain conditions or during events that already grant double experience points.

1. Stack experience bonuses

The most important thing is to stack all available experience multipliers. Note that each type of buff (food, drinks, chems…) can only be applied once, but can stack with other types. The buffs that you can get the easiest and almost anytime are:

  • Inspirational Rank 3 (Charisma perk): +15% XP in a team
  • Rested: +5% XP for 2 hours after you have slept in a bed
  • Cranberry Sauce/Squirrel Stew: +10% XP
  • Nuka-Cola Cranberry: +4%
  • Leader Bobblehead: +5% XP
  • Blessing of the Wise Mothman: +5% XP when you talk to the wise mothman after the public event “Path to Enlightenment” at the Lakeside Lighthouse
If you interact with the Mothman after the event, you will receive a buff.

Tip: You can get the recipe for the cranberry sauce from Antoine at the Whitespring Resort. The bot has the recipe available for some caps in its random stock. If it is not currently available, log out and back in to try again.

2. Increase Intelligence and Charisma

Further XP bonuses can be obtained by increasing your Charisma and Intelligence. Each point in Intelligence increases your earned experience by 2%, each point in Charisma increases the experience points for completing events/quests by 5%.

There are various statements about whether and where there is a limit to these effects. Some players claim that anything above a value of 25 does not grant any further effects. Others say there is no limit.

We simply assume that there is no limit here. You can invest up to 15 points in a value through the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system and additionally use other bonuses.

A high value in Intelligence helps you level up.

The same principle as with the XP buffs applies here: Each type of buff can only be applied once. Therefore, we have only listed the strongest ones.

You can increase Intelligence through:

  • Berry Mentats: +5 INT
  • Intelligence Bobblehead: +2 INT
  • Steeped Aster Tea/Steeped Tato Blossom Tea: +2 INT
  • Legendary Effect: +1 INT per piece of equipment
  • Legendary Effect “Unyielding”: Increases all stats except endurance by up to 3 at low health
  • Nighthawk Rank 3 (Intelligence perk): +3 INT at night

You can increase Charisma through:

  • Grape Mentats: +5 CHA
  • Charisma Bobblehead: +2 CHA
  • Rodger’s Reserve Beer: +2 CHA
  • Legendary Effect: +1 CHA per piece of equipment
  • Legendary Effect “Unyielding”: Increases all stats except endurance by up to 3 at low health
  • Irresistible Rank 2 (Charisma perk): +2 CHA for each team member (except yourself)

Note that the food and drink buffs do not stack with the XP buffs. The drinks are roughly equally strong alternatives, but the food is generally weaker than pure XP food.

3. Use the right mutations and perks

You can further enhance all advantages with the right mutations and perks. For example, the mutation “Herd Instinct” increases all stats by 2 when you are in a team. “Egghead” increases your Intelligence by 6.

Especially interesting for you are the mutations “Flesh Eater” and “Plant Eater”. These increase the effects of plant or meat products by 100%. Squirrel Stews and Cranberry Sauces thus grant a substantial +20% experience points. As a downside, the other types of food are of no use to you at all.

However, the mutations come with drawbacks, such as reduced other stats or a penalty when you are not in a team. These can be reduced by 75% with the perk “Class Freak”. Additionally, perks like “In a Dozen Weird” help you enhance the effects of mutations. With perks like “Curator,” you can double the duration of bobblehead effects.

4. Use public teams

Since update 20, you have the opportunity to create public teams and grab bonuses. Public teams are groups that players can join at any time (maximum of 4 players in the group).

Depending on the type of group, there are certain bonuses. The groups you want to join for maximum XP are:

  • Building: up to +4 INT
  • Events: up to +100% XP from events
  • Hunting: up to +100% XP for killing legendary enemies
Fallout 76 Public Teams

You should always be in a public group because even if you are alone, you benefit from the bonuses that groups require, such as Herd Instinct or Inspirational. You will also almost always find players who join you.

5. Lunchboxes and other tips

  • One of the new rewards from the season pass is lunchboxes. These are consumables that reward you and nearby players with a random buff as well as +25% experience points. This is stackable up to four times.
  • If you open a lunchbox together with three other players, you will receive +100% experience points for one hour.
  • If you have one of the new companions in your camp and have already started a romance with them (only works with Sophia and Beckett), the rested buff is increased by another hour when you sleep in your camp.
  • Watch out for negative effects from mutations. For example, Wasteland Couch Potato decreases your Intelligence by 4. Work with the right perks to counteract or balance out the penalty.

Once you have stacked all XP buffs, you just need to use them right. We recommend joining a building team and starting horde events, as many strong enemies often appear here that reward you with plenty of experience points. Per enemy, you should receive up to about 500 experience points or even more, depending on the type of enemy.

MyMMO author Sascha Asendorf has more tips and tricks for you. In his special, he shows you how he farmed over 12,000 XP in an hour – and that was already before update 20 and the public teams.
