The beta of Battlefield 2042 is over and DICE has taken the community’s opinions and reports to heart. Now, you can expect positive changes at launch that will enhance your gaming experience.
What will change? From minimal to major changes, everything is included. Primarily, these are changes that positively affect gameplay or give you better visibility of events in Battlefield 2042.
These 5 changes await you at launch
EA DICE has taken the beta and the players’ experiences to heart and is now giving the new installment of the Battlefield series the final polish. Here are the previous changes you can expect:
HUD – Adjustments for better orientation
The HUD in the game will be significantly adjusted. Kills will be displayed in detail as usual under the crosshair. Additionally, the ping has been adjusted and a compass has been added.
- The compass will be displayed below your screen without aiming down sights
- The ping has not been effective, so changes will be made for better marking
- The kill feed will be placed under the crosshair as in the predecessors
- The overview map will now be unlocked – providing better insight into the battle situation
- Commorose – The familiar quick communication function will be reintroduced
Adjustments to servers and bots
In the beta, players were thrown onto unoccupied servers filled with bots. This is set to change in the future. EA has addressed the issue and stated that they have fixed the error. Now, bots will only be added in exceptional cases to ensure team balance. They are not meant to take over the entire match but to assist.
Loadouts
In the beta, you could only access your loadout while in a match. This is set to change, as you will have the option to adjust your weapon combos with the associated specialists comfortably outside the combat zone.
In the customization menu, you will take the time to adjust your quick access according to your playstyle. After that, you will also be able to name your loadout for better differentiation.
Warm Up before a round
In the beta, you were thrown onto the map, and each of your teammates went their own ways. At launch, Battlefield 2042 will therefore offer more options for communication. Before a round, you will first be brought to a warm-up area.
There, you can make certain agreements and tactics with your teammates that are essential in battle. The right mix of specialists or exchanging unnecessary weapons can be discussed in this area.
Player visibility
In the beta, you should have noticed that differentiating between friend or foe was quite the torture. Often, you attacked your teammate while your enemy lurked directly behind you. That should be a thing of the past.
Enemies will be made more visually recognizable. They will be given a special color tint. This serves to better differentiate between friend or foe. Teammates or friends will be highlighted in green or blue.
Furthermore, you will receive an auto-spot system. Enemies will thus be automatically detected in a radius of 10 meters. However, they must be within your field of vision.
Those were all the important changes that await you at launch. Can you hardly wait for the release? And if so, are these adjustments exactly what you missed in the beta? Let us know!
