Additionally, you can use multiple weapon sets at once in New World, switching back and forth between them. This way, enemies can first be attacked from a distance with a bow and then defeated in close combat with an axe.
How does the skill system work? New World does not have classes and instead relies on skill trees for each individual weapon. The more you use a weapon, the more skill points you accumulate.
Skill points can then be distributed in the talent tree to improve the weapon and learn new skills.
Through magical staves, all characters will also have the opportunity to use magical skills.
Despite war, hostile factions can coexist
How do the factions work in New World? New World offers you the opportunity to join one of the three factions in the game at level 10.
These factions are in a constant war with each other and fight for fortresses or in the open world. Nevertheless, you can even live in settlements that are hostile towards you.
How does this work? PvP in the open world is optional. If you do not activate it, you will not be attacked by other players. This can lead to interesting situations, especially in settlements.
There you can buy houses and contribute to the development of the settlement. However, if a hostile faction comes and takes over the settlement, you will not be simply thrown out and lose everything.
Instead, you can continue to live in your house and maintain good contact with your neighbors, who may come from other factions. Trade is also still possible.
Housing rewards the most beautiful decorations
How does housing work? Within a settlement, players can buy houses. Housing is one of the core elements of New World. In a house, you can:
- Let your creativity run wild in decorations
- Set a retreat point
- Place buffs, such as for combat or crafting
Are houses instantiated? A large part of the houses in a settlement are instantiated so that enough players can find a home.
However, particularly beautifully decorated houses are displayed, making them visible to the public.
New World offers raids, but they are different
What happens in the endgame of PvE? While PvP revolves a lot around fortress battles, the endgame in PvE offers several options for you:
