This weekend, players fought in Destiny 2 for the first time in the new raid for the title Worlds First. The raid not only continued the exciting Witch Queen story but also brought changes to the game. We looked at the impact of the student’s death on the game.
Those who start Destiny 2 after the first completion of the latest raid “The Oath of the Student” will notice several changes.
For example, a glance at the Pyramid reveals that it has now been breached. Players have found a way into the Pyramid during the raid and uncovered the hidden secret within.
This has not only continued the “Witch Queen” story but also brought changes to all other players. Moreover, after the raid, new challenges and information await you in Destiny 2.
5. New Cutscene: Ikora informs about the events
After the first login, players receive a new cutscene. Here, Ikora talks about the end of the student and that Savathun has held back this great power so far.
Additionally, players receive a warning. With the annihilation of the Creator, Guardians can expect an inevitable confrontation with the Witness and his followers.
To rewatch the cutscene, we link it here.
4. Visit Ikora for more Void Fragments
Until now, not all new Void Fragments were available in the game. But that has now changed. Those who visit Ikora on the Tower can buy a total of four new Void 3.0 Fragments from her.
However, you will need to pay something for these fragments. They cost 25,000 Glimmer each. So if you want all of them, you’ll leave a total of 100,000 Glimmer at Ikora for each of your characters, which is anything but cheap.
For Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans, these are:
- Echo of Instability: Grenade final blows grant volatile projectiles for Void weapons. (+10 Strength)
- Echo of Harvest: Precision kills on weakened targets create an orb of power. (-10 Intelligence)
- Echo of Obscurity: Finisher final blows grant invisibility (+10 Recovery)
- Echo of Weakness: Picking up orbs of power grants devour (-10 Recovery)
3. Visit Fynch in the Throne World
Those who have visited Fynch, the new NPC vendor in Savathun’s Throne World after the raid, learn his opinion on the events. He also teases the new mission for Guardians that is now waiting in the Pyramid.
2. The Hidden have a new mission for you
After the raid, a new mission named “Preservation” has been unlocked.
Where do you get the new quest? Players receive this quest when they check the evidence board of Ikora’s Hidden at the Enclave and accept the “Report: Pyramid Inspection” there.
- The weekly repeatable mission “Preservation” has a power level requirement of 1,540.
- You are to prevent the Scorn from regaining their power.
- It is a modified Light variant of the first two raid encounters.
- Upon successful completion, it grants you high-tier gear weekly.
- Additionally, you can collect various scan objects in the area.
The special aspect of this mission is that Bungie has created a way in the game to explore the raid “Oath of the Student”, at least in parts, solo or with up to 3 players. Considering how well this raid has been received in the community, despite the bugs in competitive mode, this will certainly please some players.
1. Exotic Glaives are now available
Until now, it was unclear how players could obtain the exotic glaives. However, that has also changed after the raid’s completion. The exotic glaives for all three characters are now available in the Enclave on Mars.
To shape the exotic glaives, you need to complete the mission “Preservation” and also complete the tasks in the Well. Then you can get to forming the class-specific Exo Glaives.
After shaping the first exotic glaive, the weapon crafting plan can also drop in the Well activity. However, you will also need Ascendant Alloy for shaping.
- Exotic Titan Glaive “Blade of the Action”: With it, Titans can fire a shield that protects all enclosed Guardians from incoming attacks.
- Exotic Warlock Glaive “Blade of Intent”: It creates a healing turret that heals the Warlock and allies for a short time.
- Exotic Hunter Glaive “Blade of Accord”: Fires a homing chain lightning that spreads over enemies and deals significant damage.
Have you already noticed the changes in the game and explored the new mission? If so, let us know in the comments what you think of this opportunity and especially how you liked the new raid light mission.
