In GTA Online, players can collect many cool experiences. MeinMMO editor Patrick Freese has been playing the game for years and shows you his top 5 things that are really annoying in GTA Online.
Who is speaking here? I, Patrick Freese, have gathered about 1,000 play hours in GTA Online and have my experiences. There are certain situations, players, and things that are just annoying. And I simply cannot imagine that anyone especially likes any of this in GTA Online.
In this overview, I want to show you an initial selection of things I just can’t stand in GTA Online.
1. Destroying a vehicle in the middle of nowhere without a road
What is this about? We all know it. With your motorcycle or car, you venture out into remote areas like Mount Chiliad. And while you are cruising through the terrain, it can quickly happen that the vehicle gets destroyed. For example, you miss a hill and crash into a solid rock at full speed.

Or you ride your bike in the time trial on Chiliad, lose control along the way, and then watch as the motorcycle goes down the rest of the mountain without a rider.
On busy roads, none of this is a problem, because then you just call for a new vehicle. Or you steal one. But on a mountain without roads, that doesn’t work. So you are left with what is really annoying in GTA Online: Taking long distances on foot. It takes time and is boring. A situation that annoys me every single time.
If you ever find yourself in this situation, I now know a trick. Grab your remote-controlled car in GTA Online when you’re stuck again.
2. Vehicles that are way too slow to transport valuable goods
What is this about? By now, a significant part of making money in GTA Online revolves around sourcing raw materials, processing them, and then selling the products at a high price. For example, there is my marijuana farm. I procure raw materials, let them grow with the help of my employees, and then just have to sell it.
Yet, the last step is the most annoying. “Visit 15 buyers and deliver their packages.” Of course, this all happens under time pressure, because people who smoke weed are especially known for their impatience. Or so they say.
Now you might think: Well, just load the packages into a souped-up T4 bus and I’ll finish the delivery in 5 minutes. Not so fast.

There is a garbage truck. Not modified. Barely off-road capable. Super underpowered. When climbing the winding roads to the desert, pedestrians can easily overtake me. In reverse.
This makes the whole situation even more annoying. But luckily, there are many other methods to fill your account. 13 ways to quickly earn a lot of money in GTA Online.
3. Unpredictable AI traffic
What is this about? Every player probably experiences this situation in their first 15 minutes of GTA Online. Happily driving your or a stolen car through the streets of Los Santos. You carefully calculate how to maneouver between the cars in front of you without hitting them. And just then it happens.
The AI traffic decides, for no apparent reason, to veer left or right. The gap you wanted to overtake suddenly closes, and then there’s a crash. Great. And to make it worse, it’s usually the new super sports car you just drove out of your tuning workshop.
Now, with full scratches, dents, and dings, you can bring your car directly back to the workshop or garage to repair it.
I can’t even express in numbers how many times I’ve wrecked my vehicles because the NPC traffic suddenly went crazy. If you still want to risk it, here’s the overview of the fastest cars in GTA Online.
4. Teammates who leave during heists
What is this about? Heists in GTA Online are a great way to make a lot of money in co-op (or solo). It’s about payouts in the millions. It’s clear that everyone wants to participate to quickly fill their accounts.
Many heists are played with two to four players. The teammates take on different roles such as “driver”, “shooter”, “hacker”, or similar. This makes the missions a bit different for every participant. And a heist can take up to an hour if it doesn’t go smoothly right away.
And so it happens that you play for half an hour and someone makes a stupid mistake, causing you to restart at the last checkpoint. Understandably, this frustrates the teammates. Then there are players who immediately leave the heist.
For the rest of the group, this means starting all over again. Finding a new teammate, setting up again, and then reworking everything. Which makes the effort with the first group almost in vain.
Then there are others who take too little time for a heist. After 15 minutes, they say: “Oh, by the way, I have to leave in 10 minutes, then it’s time for dinner.” And, depending on how strict the parents are who cooked the dinner, the players disappear right away. This can even happen just before completing the heist.
This sudden leaving of the heist is super annoying for the rest of the group and has made me bite my controller many times. It’s just really bad!
5. Cheaters in sessions on PC
What is this about? On PC, cheating in GTA Online is a culture of its own. Cheaters haven’t been around for long. Sometimes you meet several in just one session and they try to outdo each other.
This can be funny when it suddenly snows in the middle of July and you drift around the tight corners of Los Santos in your sports cars.
But it can also be super annoying when huge airplanes suddenly spawn in the middle of the street and block the way.
However, you can still manage to get around such plane barricades. However, I once had a cheat stick to me. When I got into a car, all four wheels suddenly fell off. This lasted about a week. No matter when I logged in, whether other players were in the session or not. I got into a vehicle and couldn’t drive it.
For a while, I lost my motivation to play.
Nevertheless, one of my funniest experiences is also related to a cheater. I got into a sex limousine in GTA Online and flew over Los Santos.
I am sure that these are not all the things players hate in GTA Online. Please write us in the comments what you can’t stand in GTA Online and why it annoys you.
This probably won’t be the last article here on MeinMMO regarding this topic, and I would love to take your suggestions into the next article.
