When FIFA 21 releases in October, there will also be new player ratings. Some talents from FIFA 20 are likely to become significantly stronger in the next installment of the series than in FIFA 20.
Who are these players? As usual, FIFA 21 will also feature new player ratings and cards in Ultimate Team. First, let’s take a look at some of the most promising talents from FIFA 20: Who impressed last year and deserves higher ratings?
Alphonso Davies
This is why Davies will get stronger: That Alphonso Davies will receive a better card next year is as certain as the non-relegation of his club, Bayern Munich. The left-back had a total rating of only 72 in FIFA 20 and a silver card in Ultimate Team. In real life, the only 19-year-old Davies has established himself as an incredibly strong full-back and secured a spot in the starting eleven of FC Bayern.
This is how strong Davies could become: In FIFA 20, Davies already received impressive FUT special cards rated 86 and 92. His card is unlikely to reach such high values, as that would be a bit too much of a jump. However, a gold card in the range of 79 to 83 seems realistic.
Erling Haaland
This is why Haaland will get stronger: Let’s go from Davies straight to the next guaranteed improvement in the Bundesliga. Haaland collected numerous powerful special cards during the FIFA season, ranging from ratings of 82 to 95. In the Bundesliga, he made a huge impact since his January transfer to Dortmund, scoring 11 goals in 13 matches, previously dominating the Austrian Bundesliga.
This is how strong Haaland will be: Haaland’s basic silver card (73) was already upgraded to a 79 gold card during the season, but that probably won’t be the end of it. A card somewhere between 80 and 83 seems more realistic, after all, Haaland is only 19 and still has a lot of potential to grow.
Lautaro Martinez
This is why Martinez will get stronger: The Argentine forward has been around a bit longer at 22 than Haaland and Davies, but he was also among the best talents in FIFA. The promising striker received a strong Future Stars card in FIFA 20 and collected a few more upgrades as well.
That was due to his strong performances for Inter Milan: In Serie A, Martinez scored 11 goals in 22 matches and provided three more assists. In the Champions League, he scored five times in just six matches. Therefore, Martinez also caught attention in the real world – among other things, FC Barcelona is reportedly interested in the Argentine.
This is how strong Martinez will be: Like Haaland, Lautaro Martinez was already upgraded during the winter refresh. Instead of his 81-rated card, he now has 84, which is likely to be close to his new rating. There might be one more point to gain.
Victor Osimhen
This is why Osimhen will get stronger: Victor Osimhen was one of the shooting stars of last season. The forward from LOSC Lille, who couldn’t make a name for himself at VfL Wolfsburg, has apparently found his rhythm and scored regularly. The lightning-quick striker netted 13 goals in the league and set up five more. A transfer to a bigger club is also in discussion – and Osimhen will likely become interesting for your Ultimate Team.
This is how strong Osimhen could become: Osimhen improved his standard card from 74 to 77 during the winter refresh and also collected a few more special cards between 80 and 93. The 77 rating will likely be surpassed – a rating of between 80 and 82 should be achievable for Osimhen.
Ansu Fati
This is why Ansu Fati will get stronger: Ansu Fati arrived late in FIFA 20, but he is expected to become one of the most interesting players in the coming years. The winger comes from FC Barcelona’s youth academy and has already made his first appearances as a professional at just 17 years old.
Alongside stars like Messi or Suarez, Fati kept up and scored a few goals. For example, the speedy dribbler recently scored in the resumed league and attracted attention once again.
This is how strong Ansu Fati could become: The football prodigy from FC Barcelona only had a rating of 73 in FIFA 20 (which is quite high at the age of 17). In Ultimate Team he got a special card with a rating of 89 – the young striker will not directly become that strong. But a rating around 80 seems possible.
