Your camp is in Conan Exiles starting point for expeditions, resource storage, and a retreat. However, it doesn’t always have to be just an awkward sandstone block. We found some innovative projects in the community that serve as cool building ideas.
What is it good for? The building system of Conan Exiles is one of the larger features of the game, and many fans enjoy simply building their own camp or even an entire city.
Some players are satisfied with just being able to build a small sandstone hut without decor or special features. However, there is also the possibility to really create cool camps. We present some to you.
Before you start building, you need to choose a building site:
1. The Swimming Pool
One of the easier constructions we stumbled upon on reddit is a small pool with a swimming pool environment. The player DoctorFeh set up his camp near a body of water and started building in the water with sandstone foundations.
In the middle of his extension, he built a small pool with Aquilonian building components from the “Jewel of the West” DLC. Around the pool are some loungers that are even usable.
On the edge of the pool, there is even a small hut for the lifeguard. He has compiled more pictures of his project on imgur.

Tip: This project is also quite easy to accomplish alone. It is also suitable for solo players in Conan Exiles.
2. The Floating Island
Another rather simple construction is a small, floating island made of wood by LordKelsier0. He built a floating outpost in the sea with a connecting bridge and wooden foundations.
At the outpost, several slaves are stationed for protection, and there are some retreats in the form of sun sails and a small hut. Such a platform would even invite you to spend a day fishing.

Tip: This project is also kept small and is suitable for single players. However, it is advisable to play with at least two people for the slaves, as catching and breaking them is a bit easier that way.
3. The Japanese Temple
The next project by GameplayJr17 is a bit larger. He created a temple with an outer tower using the Yamatai building components from the “Seeker of the Dawn” DLC, which is inspired by Japanese architecture.
The temple is quite large, has several floors, and is located on a small elevation. Its appearance resembles that of one of the simpler Buddhist or Taoist temples, like those found in traditional complexes in Japan.

Tip: Although the project is quite large, it is also feasible alone, as it is kept relatively simple. However, we recommend that at least two, ideally four or five people should be present to divide the work because of resource procurement.
4. The Exotic Ziggurat
An unusual, albeit moderately large project is the ziggurat by User sonicchill. He built a pyramid-shaped, large ziggurat (step pyramid) from the Chinese-looking Khitan parts of the “Empire in the East” DLC.
The base consists of many foundations with a long staircase leading to the actual building, which has several floors and is equipped with a balcony. On the staircase, there are several tigers and wolves that can even be used as guardians through the pet and taming system.

Tip: Similar to the temple, the ziggurat can also be built without major problems alone. However, since taming the animals takes a long time and can be dangerous, we recommend having at least one partner here as well.
5. The Roman City
If you want to create not just individual buildings but an entire city, you should take a look at the Aquilonian city by DDmD2K. The city is so large that his Xbox One sometimes stutters while loading the textures.
The city consists of several residential houses and bodies of water between them, reminiscent of the canals of Venice. In addition, there are larger buildings distributed that look like temples or town halls.
All buildings are made from Aquilonian parts. Animal guardians can be found throughout the city.
Tip: Those who tackle such a large project should try doing it with a clan. Doing it alone would take many hours unless you cheat all parts with the admin command, like on your own server. For a building project of this size, at least 10 players should participate for normal resource procurement.
Bonus: The Elven Cathedral
A larger project that User TheNemea is working on is a kind of Elven Cathedral or a castle in elven style. However, he acquired the building components through a mod; they are not normally found in the game.
The background of the castle was that it should be unassailable. All external parts cannot be climbed (also via mod), and the sheer size of the building makes it difficult to simply conquer the fortress.
On the roof, there is also a map room which helps them navigate the map more easily.

In an imgur gallery, the group has compiled some more pictures, showing the interior as well.
If you want to make your base look particularly barbaric, you can now place statues of Arnold Schwarzenegger in your camp:
