On November 8, the new map of Call of Duty: Warzone goes live, and the weapons from CoD: Vanguard are coming to the Battle Royale. MeinMMO shows you 5 weapons that you should level up to be optimally prepared for the Vanguard transition.
Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a big influx of new weapons soon, and if you play Vanguard, you can already level up the guns to Max level and unlock all attachments. We show 5 weapons that could also work well in Warzone.
Meta-Score: We categorize the 5 weapons into 3 Meta-Score levels to assess what place the weapons may occupy in Warzone:
- Meta-Score 1: Some good Warzone characteristics – Meta entry uncertain
- Meta-Score 2: Strong characteristics for Warzone – Chance of becoming Meta
- Meta-Score 3: Pretty sure Meta – will be strong in Warzone
Note: It is still not entirely clear how the Vanguard weapons will be incorporated into Warzone. It may be that there is a separate weapon balancing in Warzone and the weapons have different characteristics. However, we currently assume that the weapons will appear in their multiplayer form in Warzone.
Robot Assault Rifle – Meta-Score 1
Why is the weapon strong for Warzone? The fast-firing Robot is a prime example of a well-controlled assault rifle with a lot of range, making it a contender for Warzone.
In multiplayer, it resembles the M13 from Modern Warfare, which is also very strong in Warzone. However, one problem with the M13 is its 60-round magazine, which runs out of ammo quickly due to its high rate of fire. The Robot comes with a 75-round magazine and should outperform the M13.
Currently, the assault rifle in the multiplayer of Vanguard is the best assault rifle because it has a nasty OP setup.
What doubts exist? Even though damage plays a minor role for stable range rifles, the firepower of the Robot leaves much to be desired. The time-to-kill is slightly above average, which is why the Robot only receives a meta score of 1.
- Time-to-Kill Close Range / Long Range – Chest Hit
- Robot: 720 / 864 milliseconds
- M13: 673 / 808 milliseconds
- AK-47 CW: 600 / 700 milliseconds
MG42 Light Machine Gun – Meta-Score 1
Why is the weapon strong for Warzone? Light machine guns are range specialists in Warzone. Representing this weapon class with low recoil can drive your opponents crazy.
Long continuous fire gives your opponents hardly any breathing room, and the MG42’s 250-round magazines can be enough to suffocate enemy teams. If the MG42 works stably in Warzone, it could become one of the most annoying weapons in the game.
What doubts exist? The MG42 also has problems with damage, and it enters the second damage range already at just under 30 meters.
If the recoil is right in Warzone, the weapon has a chance for a meta upgrade – also because it does not have an “Open-Bolt-Delay” in multiplayer, which increases the time-to-kill. However, we currently see no more than a meta score of 1.
- Time-to-Kill Close Range / Long Range – Chest Hit
- MG42: 638 / 754 milliseconds
- Bruen: 705 / 705 milliseconds
- RPD: 702 / 794 milliseconds
- with Open-Bolt-Delay
There are also some weapons in Warzone with this delay, which usually lasts around 60 milliseconds and must be added to the time-to-kill when you and your opponent start firing at the same time.
M1928 Submachine Gun – Meta-Score 2
Why is the weapon strong for Warzone? The so-called “Tommy Gun” has great potential for Warzone – almost as much as the 100-round magazine of the weapon. The SMG is easy to control, has decent range in the first damage range, and an acceptable rate of fire of 800 shots/minute.
Ultimately, however, it is the large magazine that sets the M1928 apart and allows for long close-range battles in which you lose very little time on reloading. The M1928 also performs well in terms of time-to-kill:
- Time-to-Kill Close Range with Range – Chest Hit
- M1928: 600 milliseconds up to about 15 meters
- MAC-10: 590 milliseconds up to about 15 meters
- MP5 (CW): 562 milliseconds up to 9 meters
What doubts exist? The Tommy Gun starts at a disadvantage in the time to aim down sights and plays somewhat slower than the competition. Reloading the large magazines also eats up time when you actually empty the drum.
NZ-41 Assault Rifle – Meta-Score 2
Why is the weapon strong for Warzone? The NZ-41 has strong damage in the first damage range paired with a high range. You fight a bit more with recoil than, for example, the Robot or the BAR, but you get painful bullets for your battles.
The NZ-41 has very interesting characteristics that make it particularly exciting in fights up to 60 meters.
What doubts exist? Once the opponent is too far away, the NZ-41 loses damage significantly. Additionally, the magazine is relatively small with a maximum of 30 rounds – though the high damage per bullet makes up for it somewhat.
Nonetheless, the assault rifle has a good chance of having a nice time in Warzone:
- Time-to-Kill Close Range / Long Range – Chest Hit
- NZ-41: 600 / 840 milliseconds
- AK-47 (CW): 600 / 700 milliseconds
- EM2: 675 / 675 milliseconds
PPSh-41 Submachine Gun Meta-Score 3
Why is the weapon strong for Warzone? If the PPSh performs in its current multiplayer form in Warzone, it will likely take on the role of the best submachine gun in Battle Royale.
Damage, range, fire rate, magazine size – this weapon has everything to clear out in Warzone and leave the current top performers behind:
- Time-to-Kill Close Range with Range – Chest Hit
- PPSh-41 (Van): 504 milliseconds up to 12.5 meters
- OTs 9: 561 milliseconds up to 7.5 meters
- MP5 (MW): 526 milliseconds up to 9 meters
What doubts exist? How the PPSh-41 performs compared to movement remains to be seen. The time to aim down sights could be slightly higher than with the competition. But currently, it looks like a new OP weapon for Warzone is emerging – Meta-Score 3.
With the adjustment of Warzone gameplay and the introduction of Vanguard graphics, there are still some questions unanswered:
- What perks will be available?
- Will the old and new weapons remain as they are?
- Are there any differences from multiplayer?
But it won’t hurt to start leveling up the first strong weapons for Warzone in Vanguard and be ready on day one when the new weapons wreak havoc in the Battle Royale.
