Netflix has an impressive selection of movies and series, it’s easy to lose track and miss out on some noteworthy titles. That’s why we’ve picked 5 series on Netflix with only one season that you can comfortably binge-watch over a weekend.
What are these series? When selecting the series, we made sure that they only have one season and a complete storyline. Thus, we only considered specifically so-called short or miniseries.
Series that were cancelled after the first season or where fans are waiting for a second season after a cliffhanger have been deliberately disregarded.
We will briefly introduce the 5 series, avoiding spoilers as much as possible.

The Queen’s Gambit

The young girl quickly matures into an exceptionally skilled chess player and not only dominates her peers. Elizabeth invests a lot of time and training into the game of kings and participates in various tournaments.
In the process, she not only builds a reputation as a talented player, but soon competes against the best players.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

What kind of series is this? Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime series that takes you into the futuristic world of the role-playing game “Cyberpunk 2077” and is set in the city of “Night City.” The events of the series, however, take place before the actions of the game.
At the center of Night City is the drive for power and glamour. Most people in the metropolis live in poor conditions and dream of a better life, but their fates are heavily dependent on the choices of large corporations that control the city and its inhabitants.
The world of cyberpunk has undergone significant technological advancement alongside wars and disasters in the past. Many people are equipped with data chips in their heads and mechanical implants that give them unnatural strength, extreme speed, or even deadly weapons.
People with a particular interest in the use of such implants are called cyberpunks. They continuously have further enhancements implanted into their bodies in pursuit of power, fame, and wealth, escaping the life of an insignificant inhabitant of Night City.
David Martinez is also a so-called cyberpunk, who turns to military implants as a young adult after a family tragedy and shortly thereafter takes a path as a respected mercenary. In the process, David meets new friends with whom he collaborates, as well as his great love.
However, life as a cyberpunk inevitably brings about further tragedies, and the action-packed storyline of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners escalates at a pace that barely allows the audience to catch their breath.
Godless

What kind of series is this? The lonely gunslinger Roy Goode hides on the ranch of Alice Fletcher near the small town of LaBelle. Most of the men there died as miners in a mining accident, leaving the town full of widows.
Roy, who helps on the ranch, was once part of the criminal gang of the notorious outlaw Frank Griffin, but after Griffin committed some cruel acts, Roy stole from the gang and fled from the outlaw’s revenge.
Griffin is now searching for his former protégé and leaves a trail of destruction in his wake.
Midnight Mass

A race against time begins, and in their attempt to save Nick’s life, Nick’s sister Pia and his wife Sophie uncover previously unknown secrets about Nick.
Soon, more videos with even worse confessions from Nick surface, and the question arises whether Nick actually committed the confessed acts and how much truth there is in a video seen by people on social media.
