Overwatch – The Winter Oasis
Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch revealed to us in December in a cute comic the first gay character in the game, but the game keeps us busy in January as well. Whether there will be any further profound revelations, we do not yet know, but the new map “Oasis” is expected to release in January.
The Desert Bouncy Castle
In addition to the map Eichenwalde, which was released in mid-2016, Oasis is another new map in Overwatch. But instead of being transported to whimsical Black Forest castles, this time we find ourselves in a futuristic desert city reminiscent of a future Dubai. Here we can expect stylish buildings, palm trees, and street traffic. The latter is more than just a background detail.
If you’re not careful and run into the street – or get shoved – you can get run over by the cars there. In addition to numerous traffic casualties, Oasis also offers another fun feature: a jump pad. This trampoline catapults you into the air and allows for completely new tactics. For example, when flying Roadhogs drag enemies through the air or cowboy McCree activates his ultimate over all other enemies for a lofty High Noon.
Season 3 is running
In addition to the new map, Season 3 of the ranked matches is also active. This started in December but is still ongoing in January. A good opportunity to earn more points until the end of the season.
Blizzard is planning several new features for Overwatch in 2017, including at least two new heroes, one of whom is said to be nearly finished. So are we finally going to get the mysterious Doomfist, who is allegedly voiced by muscle comedian Terry Crews?
