The adventures in the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWToR) are continuing soon. We will tell you why you should check out the new expansion Onslaught.
Onslaught is the new major expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Many fans are already looking forward to it for good reasons:
New adventures in a galaxy far, far away
Reason 1 – Finally, the story continues: After a long time, SWToR is getting a new expansion. This tells the story surrounding the war between the Republic and the Sith Empire continues. Resources are slowly running low, and criminals are gaining more and more influence. You will decide in the story whether you want to support the Empire or the Republic.
During this time, intrigues are driving the Sith Empire forward, and the Republic is in desperate search of allies against the Sith.
Reason 2 – Visit new worlds: Onslaught is a very large expansion. You will explore three new worlds, each holding further quests. These advance the story surrounding the war.
- Onderon – The ruler of this jungle world seems to want to break away from the Republic, which would have devastating consequences.
- Mek-Sha – This large city is located inside an asteroid and provides shelter for smugglers and bandits.
- Corellia – Return to this planet, which has been heavily ravaged by war and is currently the focus of Sith attacks. Here, you will encounter the finale of the story.
Reason 3 – A new species comes into play: The amphibious Nautolans make their appearance. Among the Nautolans is the well-known Jedi Master Kit Fisto, who played a role in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. You can create a Nautolan hero.
Reason 4 – Flashpoints and Operations: Furthermore, you will experience a Flashpoint on Corellia and fight for a strategically important shipyard. In addition, you will dive into an operation on Dxun, the largest moon of the planet Onderon. There, you must find out what the Czerka Corporation is up to. There is much to do, and you will learn more about the game’s lore.
Reason 5 – You can improve your hero: You will find an additional equipment slot where you can store “tactical items”. These will directly affect your abilities. Moreover, there are set bonuses, and you can level your hero up to the new maximum level 75.

When does Onslaught start? The expansion will be released on October 22. If you have an active subscription to SWToR, you can download the expansion on that day.
What do the players think? Some in the community have expressed a bit of disappointment, because the expansion was initially supposed to be released in September. Especially those whose subscription to SWToR expired in September are a bit annoyed.
Others, however, are excited. The wait has been very long since the last expansion until the release of Onslaught, so an extra month doesn’t really matter now. Players are very curious about the content and the gameplay innovations, such as the tactical items.
DryTransportation writes on Reddit: “There are some complaints, but I, for one, would rather wait a bit longer than play something buggy.”
PsychoFlashFan explains: “I am glad I waited until the announcement of the release date to extend my subscription.”
