Fortnite: Battle Royale regularly brings back old skins to the shop. However, some appear more often than others, and some take a year or longer to return. We at MeinMMO showcase the skins that haven’t been seen in the shop for a long time but could make a return.
How were the skins selected? There are now hundreds of skins from Fortnite and they continue to rotate in the shop. However, some skins make a return more often than others. Thus, one sometimes has to wait a year or even longer to find a specific skin again.
If the skin ever comes back at all. Therefore, we selected the skins based on their last appearance date and showcased one skin per category here.
The 5 Rarest Skins Currently in Fortnite
The following skins from the categories Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and the Special category have not been available in the shop for a long time. The research date is February 11, 2022.
Uncommon Category – “Munitions Major”
What kind of skin is this? The Munitions Major is one of the countless variants of Fortnite’s poster boy Jonesy. This time, he wears the classic field uniform of the US Army from World War II, with a big white star on his helmet and bandana.
When was it last available in the shop? The Munitions Major is a truly rare skin. It last appeared on September 6, 2019, so it hasn’t been seen for over two years. It was originally released on March 11, 2019, for the first time.
Rare Category – “Special Forces”
What kind of skin is this? Special Forces is another military skin. It is one of the first skins that came to the shop, with its first appearance on November 1, 2017. Thus, the skin is not particularly original. It is rather a color variant of another skin. It represents a male commando soldier in a black field uniform and beret.
When was it last available in the shop? The last time this skin could be purchased in the shop was on January 24, 2019. That’s already over 3 years ago. So, anyone who managed to get this skin back then has a truly rare outfit!
Epic Category – “Freestyle”
What kind of skin is this? Freestyle is a sort of futuristic DJ and comes with bright colors, a huge headset, and an alternative version featuring a cap. Its first appearance was during Season 10 of Chapter 1 in Fortnite.
When was it last available in the shop? Freestyle last appeared in the game on October 10, 2019. Its first appearance was shortly before, on August 24. Many players did not have the opportunity to enjoy Freestyle.
Legendary Category – “Ice Queen”
What kind of skin is this? The Ice Queen is a magnificent skin that depicts a pale woman with a disdainful expression. She wears a crown of ice and a kind of armor. She is intended as the female counterpart to the Ice King skin, which was the tier 100 reward in the Battle Pass in Season 7 of Chapter 1.
When was it last available in the shop? The Ice Queen is rarely found in the shop. She last graced the shop nearly a year ago, on February 18, 2021. However, she may make a return at the end of the month.
Special Skin Category – “Black Widow”
What kind of skin is this? This is the Marvel heroine and Avengers member Black Widow. She joined the game during the cinema release of Avengers: Endgame and was the first Marvel skin available in Fortnite.
When was it last available in the shop? Black Widow was only in the shop from April 25 to May 6, 2019. Since then, there has been no trace of her. Thus, she hasn’t appeared for almost 3 years, and anyone who bought her back then likely owns a very rare skin. However, a white variant of this skin was released later, but the original remains unavailable.
