Solo Leveling
Alternative names: I Level Up Alone
Streaming provider: Crunchyroll
Solo Leveling is one of the major anime that caused a stir at the end of last year. The promotional campaign was well underway, and the first trailers looked promising. However, Solo Leveling also has to deliver significantly, as the source material is extremely popular and has long been considered a hidden gem. Accordingly, fans are quite worried that the anime adaptation may not manage to maintain the charm of the original or has to compromise on quality.
What is Solo Leveling about? 10 years have passed since the strange “gate” appeared, connecting the real world with a realm full of monsters and magic. To fight these monsters here, some chosen ones receive superhuman abilities and deal with these monsters as hunters.
Jin-Woo is considered the weakest hunter in the world, yet he fights against the monsters to pay for his mother’s medical care. However, one day everything changes when he is the only survivor and suddenly sees a new “training” in his quest log …
Metallic Rouge
Alternative names: /
Streaming provider: Crunchyroll
Metallic Rouge has mainly garnered attention because it is the production for the 25th anniversary of Studio Bones. They are the creators behind legendary series like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and My Hero Academia. Metallic Rouge is an “original anime,” meaning it has no manga or light novel source material. This gives the creators significantly more freedom, although they also have to do without existing fans of an established franchise.
What is Metallic Rouge about? In the future, humans coexist with androids known as “Neans.” However, as is often the case, not everything is harmonious. Metallic Rouge follows Redstar, an android charged with killing the “Immortal Nine” – a terrorist network threatening to uproot the society of humans and Neans. Under the project name “Metal Rouge,” Redstar and her human partner Naomi travel to Mars to trace the whereabouts of the terrorist organization and put an end to their machinations.
