Almost 4 weeks after the official release of EA FC 24 many of the new playstyles have proven themselves. We show you which playstyles have the greatest impact on gameplay and are therefore the most important.
What are playstyles? In EA FC 24, the playstyles, known as traits, have replaced player attributes. To be precise, the player attributes previously known from FIFA have been significantly expanded.
In total, there are 28 playstyles for outfield players and 6 playstyles for goalkeepers. We focus on the playstyles for players, as goalkeepers still seem quite faulty and buggy, whether with or without a playstyle.
These playstyles have the greatest impact
What categories are there for playstyles? The playstyles for outfield players are divided into the following categories: Finishing, Passing, Defense, Ball Control, and Physicality. We will go through the individual categories and present to you the best of each category.
Our explanations are based on both our own experiences from over 300 completed matches as well as the observations and assessments of eSports players.
The most important finishing playstyle: Curled Shot
Why is Curled Shot so important? In our article about the different shots in EA FC 24 we already mentioned how effective the curled shot is this year. With the corresponding playstyle, players can score with their strong foot from almost any position close to the goal.
The Playstyle+ of Curled Shot is particularly OP in EA FC 24. In the penalty area, you can curl almost every ball in with players who possess this playstyle in gold. Even outside the box, the likelihood of scoring a long-range goal with the Playstyle+ version is much higher.
Examples of players with Playstyle+ Curled Shot include: Karim Benzema, Antoine Griezmann, Mohamed Salah
Also noteworthy at this point regarding the finishing styles is the Power Shot playstyle. Players execute this shooting technique with the corresponding playstyle significantly faster and with increased shot power.
The most important passing playstyle: Forward Pass
What makes Forward Pass so valuable? In EA FC 24, there are two extremes in defense. Either the opponent constantly presses you or they sit very deep in their own half. Both methods are difficult to maneuver against.
An effective way is the so-called chip ball behind the defensive line, which Joshua Kimmich masters to perfection at Bayern Munich. The executing player lifts the ball with great finesse over the opponent’s defensive line.
In EA FC 24, there is a dedicated playstyle for these lobbed passes. If your player has this, they can bypass the opposing defense with the highest precision, regardless of whether the high pass needs to cover 5 or 50 m.
And not only that.
The Forward Pass playstyle also positively impacts your lateral movements. In EA FC 24, considering the pressing situation, it is important that you occasionally switch the ball to the other side of the pitch to escape the opponent’s aggressive pressing. You can do this even better with Forward Pass.

The following players possess the Playstyle+ Forward Pass, for example: Joshua Kimmich, Patricia Guijarro, Toni Kroos
The playstyle Hard Pass should also be briefly mentioned here as an important style. It is particularly suitable when you should be working with many crosses, as these come with Hard Pass particularly accurately and incredibly sharply.
The most important defensive playstyle: Pressing
In defense, this year there are many important playstyles, as defending has perhaps never been so difficult. Quick help is promised by our tips for guaranteed fewer goals conceded in EA FC 24.
The more defensive playstyles your player possesses, the greater your chance of thwarting scoring opportunities.
What makes Pressing so special? This year, Pressing is of particular importance because defenders without this playstyle are hardly able to cope with the fast dribbles and changes of direction of attackers.
Even with the corresponding playstyle, you should use Pressing rather sparingly. However, if you use it with L2 on the PlayStation or LT on the Xbox, it would be a huge advantage if your player has this trait.
Your pace during pressing or the speed of switching from pressing to sprinting and vice versa is significantly increased by this playstyle, allowing you to follow the opponent more easily and quickly, making it harder to overcome you.

Players who have the Playstyle+ Pressing include: Reece James, Jules Koundé, and Kathrin Hendrich.
At this point, two more defensive playstyles should be highlighted. Anticipation and Block are also extremely helpful.
While with the Anticipation playstyle, you can better steal balls from your opponent’s feet, Block allows you to position yourself further into the shot path of opposing shots. Blocks are sometimes even executed automatically when you are in striking distance.
Below, we continue with the last two important playstyles. These are especially helpful for offensive effectiveness. If you generally have problems creating chances in EA FC 24, we recommend our tips for guaranteed more goals in EA FC 24.
The most important ball control playstyle: Technique
At the beginning of EA FC 24, there was probably hardly anything that was used as often as the R1 dribbling. Players with strong ball control were extremely hard to separate from the ball when they were in the so-called controlled sprint.
What effects does the Technique playstyle have? But the OP dribbling became even more powerful when players possessed the Technique playstyle. Unmatched, one could march through opposing defenses at high speed and with tight ball control.
Meanwhile, the R1 dribbling has been slightly weakened by the new patch, but it is still very strong. So strong that you should have at least one or two players with the Technique playstyle in your Ultimate Team.

Here you have a selection of players who possess the Playstyle+ Technique: Lionel Messi, Jamal Musiala, Aitana Bonmatí
After the last patch, players with considerable speed are now even more in focus. A playstyle that helps you dribble at high speed with the ball also belongs to the ball control category and is called Finesse.
This playstyle combined with our next, final recommendation is currently becoming the new meta in EA FC 24.
The most important physical playstyle: Quick Step
Not for nothing does this playstyle carry a rocket as a symbol. With Quick Step, you are much faster to maximum speed.
How should I use Quick Step? Particularly effective is the playstyle when players with an explosive acceleration type possess this trait. In addition, the combination of Finesse (see above) and Quick Step is currently very sought after, as your player with Quick Step accelerates better and retains his speed while dribbling with Finesse.

Examples of players who are quick-footed and possess the Playstyle+ include: Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Alphonso Davies, Karim Adeyemi
Also worth mentioning is the physical playstyle Outside Foot Shot. This is also extremely effective in EA FC 24 as a counterpart to the Curled Shot. If you’re looking for a showcase Outside Foot shooter, you’ll find it in Real star Luka Modrić.
Thus, we have reached the end of our list of the most important playstyles. A player who possesses all these playstyles does not exist at this time, probably for good reason because that player would simply be too strong.
However, a player who possesses two of these playstyles and is currently dominating has been presented in another article. He is really thriving this year and is played by many.
