5. Big Mom Pirates (Captain: Charlotte Linlin)
Wait, didn’t we say that defeated opponents wouldn’t be included in the list? Well, actually, there is a persistent fan theory that Big Mom survived the fight. It was never made obvious how she was killed.
Even in her last moments when she was seen, she was fully conscious. So, she might be lingering somewhere in the Earth’s interior, planning her return. Big Mom is a tough character and could (maybe even with a piece of cake?) regain her strength.
The reason why Big Mom is believed not to be dead is the existence of Zeus. Most Devil Fruit users lose their powers when they die or are unconscious. The fact that the storm cloud is still traveling with Nami suggests that Big Mom is still alive.
Big Mom would have one of the strongest pirate crews behind her. She is a collector of all the races that exist in One Piece. The pirate crew is also one of the few exceptions that has not completely defeated Luffy and his friends. After the events on Wholecake Island, the Straw Hat Crew had to flee to avoid being caught by the Big Mom Pirates.
In addition to her goal of creating a land without discrimination, she also wanted to become the Pirate Queen. If Big Mom survived the crash, it could be that she also joins the fight for the Pirate Crown.
The Chances for the Crews
Almost all crews still in the running for the One Piece are the pirate crews of the Four Emperors. Other pirate crews like those of Jewelry Bonney or Urogue are not strong enough to take part in the race for the One Piece. As the survival of Big Mom is only a theory, we would also exclude this crew.
Buggy probably has the worst chances of finding the One Piece. Mihawk and Crocodile have no interest in finding the One Piece, and the crew seems to be one of the weakest.
The crew of Shanks has a particularly strong captain who possesses a highly powerful Conqueror’s Haki and enjoys high esteem among the Marines. However, both Luffy and Blackbeard also have Conqueror’s Haki and even their Devil Fruit powers. Therefore, we believe that Shanks’ crew may fall short as well.
Possibly, the search for the One Piece will come down to a duel between Luffy and Blackbeard. At this point, we would estimate that Blackbeard has the advantage in terms of combat power. However, Luffy’s crew possesses a strong will and tactical skill, so it might end in a grand showdown.
