What kind of game is this? Baldur’s Gate 3 is a new D&D role-playing game from the legendary Baldur’s Gate series after many years. Although the full release is planned for autumn 2021, you can already play the game in early access on PC or Stadia on October 6.
The game takes place about 100 years after the last part of the series. Baldur’s Gate is here in the crosshairs of the cruel illithids, a species of tentacled fantasy fascists.
In the game, you explore the city and its surroundings and fight against the illithids. This happens in turn-based combat. Additionally, Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a promising co-op mode.

The major highlight of Baldur’s Gate 3 is certainly the multiplayer mode. Here, a similar system is used as shown by developer Larian in their Divinity games.
You can either play the game right from the start with up to 4 players, each building their own character. Alternatively, you can also join a player via drop-in and take on the role of an NPC companion.
Unlike many MMORPGs, the group votes on game-changing events, which then actually happen and alter the game world. So if the majority decides that a village is destroyed by monsters, then that is indeed the case, and the village is gone.
