Final Fantasy XIV – Update 4.3 “Under the Moonlight” – A massive update
What is it about? For Final Fantasy XIV from Square Enix, a hefty content update in the form of Patch 4.3 “Under the Moonlight” will be released in mid or late May. As usual, the main story of Stormblood will continue with new quests, and this time players can look forward to the conclusion of the story arc in Doma.
What’s new
In Update 4.3, the new 24-man raid “Ridorana Lighthouse” will also go online, continuing the story of the “Return to Ivalice” questline and bringing new, stylish equipment as rewards.
Other contents of the update include:
- New super-secret trial
- Super-epic raid: fight against Ultima
- New dungeon “Compass of the Swallow”
- Quests of the Wild Tribe of the Namazu, aimed at crafters and gatherers
- The myth of the 4 beast deities continues
- New Eureka area “Pagos”
What are the players hoping for?
Especially the hardcore community is currently excited about the new super-epic raid Ultima. The previous fight against Bahamut exceeded all expectations and is considered by many to be the best fight in the game so far. It will be exciting to see if Ultima can keep up.
There is also wild speculation about which fight the secret trial will entail. Director Yoshida said that this is firmly integrated into the story of the game and will not be shown in the upcoming trailer for the patch. Expectations are consequently very high.
What will it be in the best or worst case?
The ideal case: The conclusion of the story arc of Doma will be one of the highlights of the Stormblood expansion. Additionally, there will be an extremely epic trial fight against the secret opponent.
This is threatened in the worst case: The fight against Ultima will be disappointing for both raiders and stream viewers, and the story of Doma may not be as exciting as expected.
Why should you play Final Fantasy XIV now?
Patch 4.3 is considered one of the “catch-up patches” in terms of the overall item level of the armor. The 24-man raid allows slower or newer players to obtain good armor without having to hardcore raid.
