Conan Exiles – After a few extra rounds finally at the goal?
What is Conan Exiles anyway? Conan Exiles is a survival MMO in the harsh world of Conan the Barbarian. There, you start as a naked criminal whom the cross has nailed, slowly dying in the desert. But then the titular barbarian comes and rescues you.
From then on, you must ensure your survival in the harsh world of barbarians. Wild animals, other players, NPCs, and gruesome monsters make your life difficult. To survive, you must stock up on food, build structures, and craft weapons.
What’s new at release
Thanks to the hard work of the developers, Conan Exiles has been greatly expanded. Among other things, the following features and content have been added since release:
- A huge new area called “Frozen North”, where ice, snow, and frost giants await
- Massive new items to find and craft
- Two new gods to whom you can worship: The goddess of lust Derketo and the ice giant Ymir
- Siege machines that allow you to tear down enemy fortresses
- Even two new biomes at launch: An endgame volcano with lizard men and a poisonous swamp
- A completely revised combat system
- “The Purge”: These are NPC barbarian hordes that raid you when you become too strong
What are the players hoping for?
Many players liked Conan Exiles back then at release but eventually dropped out due to poor content and many bugs.
Therefore, they expect stability, solid gameplay from the release version, and that all the new features, such as the “Purge” or the new areas, work as flawlessly as possible.
What will Conan Exiles be in the best or worst case?
The ideal case: If Funcom does a good job and fixes bugs and polishes content properly by release, then Conan Exiles could really become a great survival sandbox MMO.
The unique, harsh barbarian setting creates a good atmosphere, and if the fun is not constantly marred by bugs and exploits, many cool hours can be spent in the world of Conan.
This is threatened in the worst case: In the worst case, the game quickly stagnates and fails to gain a player base. This would also significantly slow down the pace of development.
Why should you play Conan Exiles now?
Anyone looking for a rough, dirty, and brutal survival MMO with naked barbarians (keyword: penis slider) should definitely try Conan Exiles. The progression from naked crucified to barbarian warlord with a slave army is almost addictive.
