The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset – Early access for PC players
What is Summerset anyway? When the first major addon (called chapter in ESO) for The Elder Scrolls Online was released with Morrowind in 2017, the developers announced further annual expansions. Thus, on May 21, 2018, the next chapter called Summerset will be released on PC. The versions for PS4 and Xbox One will only be released on June 5.
It takes the players to the mysterious Summerset Isles, the home of the arrogant and xenophobic High Elves. But in their supposed paradise, there is something wrong, and dark powers are spreading underground.
In the finale of the story that began with the DLC Orsinium, the climax of the machinations of an epic conspiracy is at stake.
What’s new?
Summerset mainly brings more of the same. Unlike in Morrowind, there is neither a new class nor a new PvP mode. Only the crafting of jewelry and the new general skill line of the Psijik Order are new. Jewel crafting is only available to owners of the addon.
Otherwise, Summerset offers a large new island that has not been seen since the original Elder Scrolls Arena. There are also plenty of quests, public dungeons, and another raid with loot.
Also cool: Starting with Summerset and Update 18, there will be daily login rewards, and the game will utilize more processor cores.
What are the players hoping for?
Most players who are looking forward to the new addon hope for the following:
- A worthy story finale on a beautiful new island
- More customization options thanks to jewelry crafting and that two-handed weapons now count as 2 set items
- Better performance due to improved processor usage
- A fair balance of classes and especially the new Psijik skills
What will Summerset be in the best or worst case?
The ideal case: If the developers at Zenimax maintain the current level of quests, instances, and story, then Summerset will be an addon that fans of The Elder Scrolls Online will definitely enjoy. The new Psijik skills are not a new class, but if you love your old hero, you can expand him even more since the skills are learnable for every class.
Why should you play ESO with Summerset now?
With Summerset, you acquire the complete base game and receive your tutorial, with which you start directly in Summerset. You can get started right away. Therefore, Summerset is optimal for new ESO players.
Those who already know and own ESO can look forward to more of the familiar and beloved ESO gameplay and experience the end of a year-long storyline.
On Page Three, expect a game where naked barbarians play a significant role.
