Far Cry 5: New Dawn – Welcome to the Colorful Post-Apocalypse

What is New Dawn? Far Cry: New Dawn is the sequel to Far Cry 5 and will be released on February 15, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The story takes place 17 years after the apocalypse at the end of Far Cry 5.

However, the world did not completely collapse. Survivors are building a meager existence, threatened by the evil twin sisters Mickey and Lou along with their bandits. Your task is to stop the two villains.

What does Far Cry: New Dawn offer?

What remains the same: The setting of New Dawn is still Hope County in Montana. At least what remains of it after a nuclear blast and 17 years of aftermath. Curiously, the world after the apocalypse is not a desert, but strangely colorful and vibrant.

The gameplay itself remains unchanged. You shoot and sneak around while combating the twins’ gang and freeing the oppressed residents.

What changes: New Dawn aims to focus more on RPG features. Thus, you will have the capability to craft unique weapons and gain even more customization options for your playstyle.

Additionally, there will be a type of housing where you can build and enhance your home base.

Lastly, the developers have announced a new system for enemy outposts. You can capture them as usual and have them occupied by your allies.

You can also just loot them and leave them empty. The enemy will eventually return, and you can raid them again.
