Lenny “LENNYYYYY???” Summers
Who is he? Lenny is familiar to many RDR2 players from the iconic mission where Arthur starts a drinking tour with him that goes quite wrong. He is a witty, young, and intelligent man who had a sad life.
His grandmother was a slave, and his mother was born on a cotton field. She was immediately “confiscated” by the overseer of the slaves. Later, out of rage, Lenny’s grandmother killed that very overseer and had to flee, never to see her daughter again.
Later, she met Lenny’s father, became an educated woman who could read and write. Everything she knew, she taught Lenny.
When Lenny was just 15 years old, his father was killed by drunk men. Lenny took revenge on his father’s murderers and killed them. As a result, he was forced to flee, just like his grandmother did.
Lenny’s New Home with the Outlaws
A few years later, the “Van der Linde” gang became his new home. He had a close relationship with Arthur Morgan, became an important member of the gang over time, and participated in many of the gang’s actions. Throughout the story, we conduct several heists with him and get insight into Lenny’s story.
He repeatedly expressed his hatred toward slaveholders. However, within the gang, he mostly lived free from those matters, as the group consisted of outsiders from society and everyone was treated more or less equally.
With his cheeky nature, he asserted himself against long-standing gang members like Arthur, whom he once teased about his age during a poker game.
During a bank heist in Saint Denis that turned out to be a government trap, Lenny ultimately died during the escape. Sadie Adler and other gang members managed to recover his body and bury him.
His death was one of the hardest blows of fate for Arthur and would have a profound effect on his character development throughout the rest of the story.
