With each season, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone hands its players new firearms. A leak now presents 5 possible weapons for which there are hints in the game files. MeinMMO shows you here which weapons these are and when they could come.
Which weapons are these? The reddit user “JeaneJWE” presents several hints about upcoming weapons for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Specifically, it concerns:
- APC 9 – SMG
- KRISS Vector – SMG
- Galil – Assault Rifle
- HK G28 – DMR
- XM109 – Sniper
The YouTuber and CoD expert “TheXclusiveAce” has looked at the weapons, highlighted their possible characteristics, and made some speculations about what could be included in the loadouts with Season 4. Here is his video on it:
Hints about new weapons found in the code – release unclear
Where do the leaks come from? According to the reddit thread, the info comes from a data analysis of the weapon values. While sifting through the data, he noticed 5 weapons that have not been released yet.
Partly, these are file names that nonetheless provide a clear hint at a real existing weapon. “TheXclusiveAce” believes this would be the normal procedure in CoD, where the working titles of the files often correspond to the real names of the weapons, but upon release, the “CoD MW 2019” typical fantasy names are used.
However, these are unconfirmed leaks. There has not been any confirmation from the developers for any of the weapons yet.
APC 9 – Long present in the game, yet somehow it does not come
What kind of weapon is this? The APC 9 is a submachine gun with a firing rate potentially exceeding 1,000 and a 40-round magazine. The weapon could already have been accidentally played by some soldiers and has been part of the data for months.
When could it come? Of the weapons listed here, there are the most concrete hints for the APC 9. The weapon is practically finished and has been in the game for a long time. This makes it likely that it will come with Season 4.
However, the question arises as to why this weapon has been available for such a long time without being released. It could have come with Season 2 or 3.
KRISS Vector – Fan wish with high rate of fire
What kind of weapon is this? Similar to the APC 9, we also have here a submachine gun with potentially high rate of fire. The Vector was leaked some time ago. Back then, the displayed weapon turned out to be the APC 9. That there are now indeed hints of the Vector in the game is likely to please some fans.
When could it come? So far, there are only hints in the game regarding file names and sounds of the weapon, but no model find like with the APC 9. Some players wish for this SMG with its unusual design, but whether something will come remains questionable.
Galil – Strong automatic rifle with high damage
What kind of weapon is this? This Israeli assault rifle is roughly based on the structure of the AK-47 and could also fall into this category. The weapon is available with light 5.56mm ammunition, but also as 7.62 caliber.
If this assault rifle comes, it could play quite similarly to the AK-47, thus placing it among the heavy assault rifles, at least according to “TheXclusiveAce”.
When could it come? Recently, models have been found in the game data. The weapon is probably not completely finished. Assault rifles are extremely popular in CoD and although there are already 10 different ARs in Modern Warfare and Warzone, this model could still find a place and fans.
A release in Season 4 seems quite possible here.
HK G28 – German DMR with sniper characteristics
What kind of weapon is this? A German DMR from the weapon manufacturer “Heckler & Koch”. Judging by the stats, the rifle is placed among the large sniper rifles in terms of accuracy values, but it does not carry as much damage and range as a sniper.
When could it come? There is little information about this rifle in the files. “TheXclusiveAce” believes that the introduction with Season 4 of all 5 weapons is the least likely. The few hints and the fact that there are already relatively many DMRs argue against a timely release in his opinion.
However, the thread creator “JeaneJWE” believes it is possible that this weapon could come as the third new gun in the course of Season 4 to the CoD arsenal. Similar to the Bruen Mk9 in Season 3 or the crossbow in Season 1, which came into the game around the middle of the season as a “classified weapon”.
XM109 – Explosive sniper rifle
What kind of weapon is this? Should this projectile come into the game, you will get a powerful anti-vehicle weapon in hand. The XM109 fires grenade cartridges and could cause high damage, including one-shot kills and splash damage. “Ace” suggests that it could come with some disadvantages, such as long reloading times or very low rate of fire.
When could it come? The files provide the least information about this weapon. The values appear exactly as those of the HDR, but there is a sound track. “JeaneJWE” can even imagine that the weapon might only come as a drop in Warzone, just like the grenade launcher, which you can find but cannot equip with a loadout, unlike the other launchers of the battle royale.
