Which multiplayer title will be played by everyone soon? We at MeinMMO take a look into the future and summarize which games are on the most wishlists on Steam.
There are a few big announcements for 2023. These include sequels to popular games, as well as entirely new titles. Those who want to stay up to date and know what everyone else is playing or will be playing should not overlook the list.
How was this list created? To find the most wished-for games, we searched Google for “Steam most wanted games” and received an overview, to which we added the tag “Multiplayer.” Here you can find the list.
At the top is Hogwarts Legacy, which according to the developers will not have a multiplayer or co-op mode. There were rumors about this, which is why the game is still likely listed under “Multiplayer” on Steam.
The Day Before
Genre: Survival shooter | Developer: Fnatic | Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
What kind of game is this? In The Day Before, you must survive in a zombie apocalypse. The cause of the world’s downfall was a pandemic. To stay alive, you need to search for and craft food, weapons, and other useful items.
However, you won’t be fighting only zombies – an important aspect of The Day Before is PvP. You live in constant fear of being attacked by other players.
When is it coming out? The Day Before was initially set to release in 2022 but has been delayed. The new date is March 1, 2023. The shooter is expected to release directly in Unreal Engine 5.
Party Animals
Genre: Party game | Developer: Recreate Games | Platform: PC
What kind of game is this? Party Animals is a colorful casual game featuring cute animals. You play as a dog, cat, rabbit, or other animal, battling your opponents in various mini-games. You can grab, push, and shove opponents to secure victory.
If you enjoy games like Fall Guys, Pummel Party, and Gang Beasts, Party Animals is definitely for you.
When is it coming out? There is currently no release date for Party Animals. On Steam, it simply states “TBA,” and on the website, the developers encourage players to add the game to their wishlist.
Sons Of The Forest
Genre: Survival horror | Developer: Endnight Games Ltd | Platform: PC
What kind of game is this? Sons of the Forest is the sequel to the popular horror survival game The Forest from 2014. You crash land on an island in a plane where you must survive. In the first part, you’re looking for your son. In Sons Of The Forest, you search for a millionaire.
The sequel’s gameplay is similar to The Forest and takes place on the same map. However, it comes with several improvements. For example, there are now changing seasons that affect not only your survival struggle but also the various creatures on the island.
Additionally, further improvements include enhanced graphics and AI for your enemies. You even have more firearms, though ammunition is limited.
When is it coming out? The first postponed release was set for May 2022, before the planned release was moved to October 2022. Later, Endnight Games announced that they would not meet this date either. The new release date is set for February 2023.

ARK 2
Genre: Survival | Developer: Studio Wildcard | Platform: PC, Xbox Series X/S
What kind of game is this? ARK 2 is the direct sequel to the popular survival game ARK: Survival Evolved. However, it is said to differ from its predecessor in gameplay. For instance, there will be a Soulslike combat system. Additionally, it takes place on a brand new map called Arat.
Since the developers are using Unreal Engine 5, there will be very detailed weather, smoke, and even foliage. The environment constantly changes, and there are various events such as herd migrations, gatherings at watering holes, or injured creatures.
In ARK 2, there should also be the ability to build based on templates and use cross-platform mods.
When is it coming out? Originally, ARK 2 was supposed to be released in 2022, but in summer it was postponed to 2023. There is no exact date yet. Additionally, we know that ARK 2 will be available in the Xbox Game Pass for 3 years.
Kerbal Space Program 2
Genre: Simulation, Space | Developer: Intercept Games | Platform: PC, PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series X/S
What kind of game is this? Kerbal Space Program 2 is the sequel to its namesake predecessor. You fly into space and take charge of an extraterrestrial space agency. You build spaceships and navigate them through space to discover new solar systems and cosmic secrets.
The gameplay of Kerbal Space Program 2 is fundamentally not expected to differ from its predecessor. However, players now have access to more options: more technologies, new colonies, and more modding features.
The biggest change, however, is that the sequel will now be a multiplayer title. In contrast, you could only play the first part from 2015 alone.
When is it coming out? The planned release for the space simulator is February 24, 2023. Then the game will enter early access on Steam, while the console version is still pending.
