1. Forrest Gump – A Saturday that is actually a Monday
After the death of his beloved, Forrest Gump stands mourning in front of her grave. On the gravestone we can clearly see the date engraved when Jenny passed away: It is March 22, 1982. Forrest Gump says that she died on a Saturday.
However, if you look up the date in the calendar, you can see that the date was actually not a Saturday, but a Monday.
2. Jurassic Park – The wrong mosquito
Thanks to a small mosquito that sucked the blood of the dinosaurs and was preserved in amber, the prehistoric giants can be revived in Jurassic Park.
But realistically, the researchers would have failed immediately because: The mosquito shown is the completely wrong specimen, as explained by an insect researcher.
The mosquito is male, so it doesn’t drink blood at all. Moreover, this species of mosquito generally does not feed on blood.
The researcher also noted that DNA usually has a half-life of 521 years – it would have already broken down long ago and would no longer be detectable in the blood.
3. The Lord of the Rings – A ring bearer went home empty-handed
At the beginning of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, we see the various ring bearers among the elves, dwarves, and men. At the same time, it is told that among the latter 9 kings received special jewels.
While 8 of the men simultaneously lower their hand, in which the ring is visible, the king all the way to the right stands out because he does not make the movement. He holds no ring in his hand, unlike his colleagues.
In this YouTube video, you can watch the prologue of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, including the ring bearer without a ring.
