In Pokémon GO there are now the Top TMs (Elite TMs) and numerous Pokémon can benefit. But which monsters are worth it the most?
What are Top TMs? These items have been available since the Community Day with Abra. You could buy a Top TM in the Community Day box. With this item, you can teach your Pokémon moves that it could only learn for a short time and that are now typically no longer available.
The list of learnable moves is long and Top TMs are rare. So the question is: Which Pokémon should receive an Elite TM?
Top TMs are that rare: The item has only been available once so far. You had to buy the box from the Community Day to get it. The next opportunity for a Top TM is at the end of Season 1 of the PvP League. You will receive such a TM if you are ranked 7.
Best Pokémon for the Top TM
Mewtwo: The Psychic-type Pokémon is probably the best choice for many players. It has advantages in raids and PvP thanks to the Elite TM. You could teach it the attack combination Psycho Cut and Shadow Ball. Both charge moves are extremely powerful, but they have never been available to Mewtwo at the same time.
With Psycho Cut, Mewtwo is the best Psychic attacker and with Shadow Ball, it is among the best Ghost attackers. Now, you can create a powerful combination.
It’s also possible that you only got a good Mewtwo with Shadow Ball, but when the attack Psycho Cut was available, you only caught bad Mewtwos. You can now compensate for this and create two different attackers from one Mewtwo.
In PvP, Mewtwo is useful with both attacks. Previously, it was the case that the opponent knew when, for example, Psycho Cut was used, no Shadow Ball could follow. Now it’s different, and you can confuse and outsmart your opponent well.
Mew: The mysterious Pokémon has a special feature. It can learn a total of 25 charge moves and it costs a lot of normal TMs to learn the right moves. There, the randomness decides which move is chosen.
With the Top TM, however, you can easily select the correct move. However, keep in mind that Mew will not become incredibly strong, but you’re merely saving normal TMs here. If you have enough normal TMs, you should use them for Mew and not the rare Top TM.
Especially for PvP, Mew is interesting because your opponent cannot know at all which moves your Mew has.

Zapdos: The legendary Pokémon can learn the fast move Thunder Shock through the Top TM. This makes it especially more useful in PvP, as it is quickly used and charges the charge move particularly quickly.
Keep in mind, however, that there was only one Top Charge TM through the Community Day box. The Top TM for fast moves will only be available at the end of the PvP season.
Jynx: Many trainers may wonder why this seemingly useless Pokémon made it onto this list. The reason for this is the two ice moves Ice Shard (Fast) and Icy Wind (Charge). Both enhance Jynx tremendously for the Super League in PvP and this previously useless Pokémon becomes really strong.
Together with a second charge move of the Water type, Jynx becomes quite agile in battle and disrupts the Super League meta. However, Jynx’s true potential only unfolds with both moves. This means you will probably need two Top TMs to make Jynx really useful.
Community Day Moves: With the Top TMs, you can teach any Pokémon from the Community Day the exclusive move. Some of the monsters become significantly stronger and are worth more.
However, you must keep in mind that the TM is extremely rare and you had the massive Community Day the last two Decembers, during which you could teach all exclusive moves again. So you can also simply wait until December to teach the special moves to the Pokémon.
If you already have a developed Pokémon with good IV that you want to teach a Community Day move, then you can use the Top TM.
