What is Star Stable? Star Stable is an MMO centered around horses. You create a character with which you can explore the various areas and settlements of the island of Jorvik. Along the way, you complete quests, solve puzzles, and follow a story.
The focus is on your horse, which you can care for and constantly improve.
The servers for the Swedish version of Star Stable went online as early as September 2011. In June 2012, an English version and additional languages were released.
Star Stable caught attention in the summer of 2021 when it announced it had surpassed 600,000 players per month.
What can you experience in the game? You get your first horse immediately upon character creation. More can be earned or bought over time:
- The game offers a large selection of different horse breeds
- Some are real, others are fictional
- You can level and train your horses
- The horses have different “moods” that affect their performance
- Each horse has its own stats and special abilities
- You can farm reputation for various factions
Completing quests and caring for the horses in stables gives you the in-game currency Jorvik Shillings, which can be spent on various items: such as new accessories for the horses or your character.
When the horses are well cared for and in a good mood, you can race with them on various courses. Star Stable Online offers over 60 race tracks with varying difficulty levels. There are rewards for the races, as well as a leaderboard for the best players.
Are there really no fights? Yes, you can only compete against players in races or other competitions. However, at no point can you attack them.
