What kind of game is this? Far Cry 6 is the latest installment in the shooter series from Ubisoft. You play as a guerrilla fighter named Dani Rojas. Your homeland, Yara, has been under the control of a brutal regime for 50 years, and you are fighting for freedom.
In the game, you fight against the dictator Anton Castillo, who rules Yara with an iron fist. The game world is a fictional island, loosely based on Cuba. You fight your way through jungles, tropical beaches, and towns.
In Far Cry 6, you generally fight and play in the first-person perspective, using firearms that you can craft similar to those in Far Cry New Dawn.
You can experience Far Cry 6 alone or with other players in co-op.
The Highlights of Far Cry 6
Far Cry 6 aims to be a big open-world shooter and promises several interesting features:
- The game does not rely on a pre-defined character and allows you to design one in the editor
- You are expected to have various ways to solve a mission. You can choose to scan, sneak, and eliminate enemies deliberately or simply run into an enemy camp and cause chaos
- You should be able to craft outrageous weapons, such as a rifle made from a car exhaust and a tin can
- There are various vehicles, including cars, tanks, and even horses
- The game places a lot of emphasis on visually appealing graphics and cinematic cutscenes
- You will be accompanied by an animal companion on your adventures
Why you should play Far Cry 6 in October
The new shooter was released on October 7. So if you want to be there from the beginning, you should buy the game right at launch.
Far Cry 6 is aimed at fans of the series, but also general shooter players who are looking for a story-driven game. Especially graphically and in terms of atmosphere, the game is said to impress according to initial tests. However, how long the game will keep you engaged is not yet known.
After the release, Far Cry 6 will be constantly expanded. New missions are expected to debut every week, which can only be played if you have already completed the main campaign. There will also be crossovers – such as to Rambo.
Additionally, a season pass has already been announced along with three additional DLCs.
