World of Warcraft
Developer: Blizzard | Platform: PC | Release Date: February 11, 2005 (EU) | Payment Model: Buy2Play
Unlike Guild Wars 2, the free version of WoW is very limited. To seek the full gaming experience, you definitely need the latest expansion and the still mandatory monthly subscription.
Nevertheless, the modern version of World of Warcraft is, in my opinion, one of the best MMORPGs for casual players that you can play nowadays. Unlike, for example, its major competitor Final Fantasy XIV WoW has received a tailored, very flexible leveling experience over the years.
A new feature is coming to Azeroth that may appeal to some casual players: Housing!
While the narrative thread becomes a patchwork of holes, you can reach the contents of the current expansion and the endgame relatively quickly. Once there, not only a variety of different contents are available, but you can also do almost everything in WoW alone.
In this area, WoW has even excelled further with the current expansion The War Within. There is a story mode for raids, NPC fighters for dungeons, and even a complete endgame system with The Depths that aims to offer you a wide range of solo content.
This makes it easier and more comfortable than ever in WoW to explore the contents of a current expansion without the need for teammates and at your own pace. So it’s the perfect ecosystem for players with little time – at least if the subscription price is not an issue for you.
