What is Ship of Heroes? With Ship of Heroes, a small indie team aims to create a spiritual successor to the discontinued superhero MMORPG City of Heroes. You take on the role of a superhero and fight – also in teams – numerous enemies.
- You create your own superhero with unique superpowers
- You are aboard a spaceship that frequently visits different worlds
- You complete numerous quests at various locations to combat supervillains
- Collecting items and upgrading your hero are central elements
- Outside of missions, you play an important role on the ship, such as healing other players
Why has hardly anything been heard about the game? The small indie team has very little budget for marketing, which is why advertising for the game is basically on a small scale. Furthermore, the title is still in alpha phase, and there is not much to show yet.
What could Ship of Heroes ideally be? With Ship of Heroes, all those who have wished for something like this since the closure of City of Heroes in 2012 could find a new home. Many who used to play CoH are calling for a new superhero MMORPG.
When is the game supposed to be released? According to the current roadmap, Ship of Heroes is expected to enter beta by the end of 2019. Therefore, a release is not expected before 2020.
