What initially looks like an ordinary 10-pound (4.54 kg) clay pot can provide you with a useful companion that also has an appealing appearance. If you plant a regular shrub in it and let it grow for 30 days, the plant transforms into a living being.
This Awakened Shrub can take various forms, such as that of an animal or a bush with some kind of face. Depending on your Dungeon Master’s discretion, this shrub may also be able to speak, move, and possess a thinking mind.
So, with a bit of patience, you can gain a new companion through this pot, provided you endure for that long and ensure that nothing happens to the growing plant in the meantime.
Once the plant is fully grown and awakened, it will be friendly towards you and follow your instructions – even in battle. Although it isn’t particularly strong, it can still be useful. However, aside from interacting with you, the plant does nothing; you must therefore actively give it something to do.
