EA Sports has released a new gameplay trailer for FIFA 20. Here you will learn about the 5 insights we gained from the trailer.
The new gameplay trailer for FIFA 20 is relatively short at 1:29 minutes, but still shows many new gameplay scenes and innovations that have been previously unknown.
1. Completely new set pieces
This is what to see: The trailer shows many standard situations. Particularly penalties and free kicks are in the spotlight. Interesting here is the new cursor that you can use to aim. The process seems to be that you first aim with the crosshair and then determine the trajectory with the right stick.
For the trajectory, EA Sports has provided a graphic showing the various options for spins and how to execute them. There are a total of 4 spin variants.

We only wonder how the new set pieces will work in couch duels against friends. After all, when playing on a single screen, the opponent can see exactly where we aim with a free kick or penalty. We are curious if EA has a solution for that.

2. Where is the cover star?
This is what to see: The new trailer features many soccer stars, including Kylian Mbappe, Marco Reus, and Mohamed Salah. However, none of the stars are really in the spotlight.
For a FIFA trailer, this is quite unusual; EA Sports usually presents the cover star early in their trailers. This star is then prominently displayed in video and image material.
We are curious who will be on the cover this year. Or, if perhaps there will be multiple players.
3. Improved dribbling and defending once again
This is what to see: The trailer presents improved dribbling techniques such as strafing dribbling. At first glance, it looks interesting and promises better chances to win 1-on-1 duels.
The improved defending is also presented, though no major differences to FIFA 19 can be recognized in the trailer. It will definitely be exciting to see how the innovations compare to FIFA 19.

4. A new stadium has been spotted
This is what to see: In a short scene in the trailer, we see Kai Havertz shooting at the goal in his home BayArena. This is particularly interesting since the Bayer Leverkusen stadium has not yet been announced. It was also not present in the last FIFA installments. Integration into FIFA 20 should particularly please Leverkusen fans.
We are excited to see which stadiums will be included in FIFA 20.
5. There seem to be new game faces
This is what to see: In the preview image of the new trailer, Axel Witsel is visible, and he seems to actually resemble his real-life counterpart more in FIFA 20. In FIFA 19, however, the Dortmund player had an in-game face that looked nothing like him.
