Luskan
Luskan lies to the north on the Sword Coast and has a vastly different reputation than the two mentioned cities. The “City of Pirates” is rough, dangerous, and infamous for smuggling, lawlessness, and the power of the Arcane Brotherhood, a ruthless alliance of powerful wizards seeking control over Faerûn and the Sword Coast.
The city was once an important trading center but fell into decline and became home to pirate fleets, wizards who wield dark magic, and monsters. This does not necessarily make it a particularly popular travel destination, but it does provide adventurers with unique challenges and a certain ambiance.
Luskan appears in many novels, particularly in the famous Drizzt Do’Urden books by R. A. Salvatore, and also plays a role in the campaign book Storm King’s Thunder.
Despite or because of its shady reputation, the city continues to attract those seeking wealth, power, or simply trouble. Or brave adventurers who want to stand in the way of the Arcane Brotherhood.
