2024 was a year full of good horror movies and in 2025 we can expect some exciting horror stories in the cinema. Today we present to you 5 interesting representatives that are expected to be released in 2025.
In 2025, of course, the Blumhouse horror representatives from the Conjuring franchise will appear again. However, on this list we want to introduce you to 5 films that sound quite promising. Coincidentally, one theme on the list seems to be quite prevalent: Gothic horror.

Honorable Mentions
Nosferatu and Return to Silent Hill were on our last year’s horror list with promising films for 2024, but they have not yet been released, which is why we will only briefly acknowledge them here.
Nosferatu is a remake from the promising director Robert Eggers. It is set to be released in the USA on December 25, 2024, but German fans will have to wait until January 2, 2025.
For Return to Silent Hill, things look less hopeful. There has been no new information or trailers for the third film in the Silent Hill series for a long time. The release date of 2024
has still not been adjusted.
5. King Spawn
Expected theatrical release: 2025
The comic hero Spawn had a movie in 1997 and with King Spawn, they want to release a new film 28 years later. The special thing about it is that Todd McFarlane is directing. He is the creator of Spawn and actually a comic book artist who previously worked on scripts for the old movie and the old cartoon series.
Spawn is a former mercenary who ends up in hell after his death. He makes a pact with a demon to see his wife again. The pact was a trick to bring Spawn under the demon’s control. However, he refuses and with his new powers, he protects New York from all kinds of horrors.
While this initially sounds like a classic superhero story, Spawn is primarily grotesque horror that has potential as a film. However, since no images or videos have been seen yet, one should approach this film with skepticism for now.
