Many players enjoy having a single game that they can play for years, one that evolves and allows them to dive deeper into it. MeinMMO presents five titles into which you can sink a lot of time if you want.
What kind of games are these? The games we present here come from different genres. However, they all share two things in common:
- They are games where you can play together with many players.
- They all offer the opportunity to invest a lot of time and continuously improve.
How was the selection made? Our five selected games are an unordered list, chosen based on the size of the player base, search interest, and personal assessments based on observations on MeinMMO. You will find some alternatives under each game.

What is World of Warcraft? World of Warcraft is currently the largest and likely the most well-known MMORPG in the world. In World of Warcraft, abbreviated as WoW, you dive into the world of the popular strategy game classic Warcraft and explore the world of Azeroth.
WoW has maintained itself for over 15 years and has offered seven expansions since Battle for Azeroth, each time expanding the game world, introducing new races or classes, and continuing the story.
Here are the key features:
- Two factions, Horde and Alliance, that are in eternal conflict with each other and against foreign powers
- 13 playable races with eight “allied races” and 12 classes
- Arenas, battlegrounds, and open PvP
- Quests, dungeons, and raids for player groups in PvE
- Guilds and a group search tool for easier connections
The long-term motivation of WoW: World of Warcraft offers many activities that can keep players engaged even after reaching the maximum level.
Raids as a king’s discipline in PvE offer tough challenges that players can spend weeks trying to overcome. PvP arenas provide the opportunity to compete with others and climb rankings.
If you prefer a quieter experience, you can spend time with pet battles, chase achievements by farming reputation, or explore every corner of the world or engage in hours of role-playing with other players. Additionally, up to 50 character slots are available to try out and level new classes or characters.
WoW continuously supplies players with new content. Recently, Patch 8.2 brought a new area and a new raid.
WoW is worth it for you if…
- you are looking for an MMORPG that tells a story you can immerse yourself in.
- you are into fantasy.
- you prefer a tab-targeting system over action combat.
- you want to play a game with millions of other players.
