Black Desert
Setting: Fantasy | Developer: Pearl Abyss | Platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S | Release-Date: March 3, 2016 | Model: Buy2Play
What is Black Desert? Black Desert is a sandbox MMORPG from the Korean developer Pearl Abyss. You must pay once to purchase the game, but then you have no monthly fees. Additionally, there is now a seven-day free trial version available.
Who is Black Desert aimed at? The Korean MMORPG stands out mainly for its action-oriented combat system and impressive graphics.
It is aimed at players who like to explore the world independently and have no problem with grinding. With the sandbox features, buildings can be erected, and a lot of trading can be done.
By eliminating a maximum level, there is always something to do, and you can spend thousands of hours just doing that.
How does Black Desert play without the Holy Trinity? All classes in Black Desert focus on damage. The combat system is very dynamic and offers many evasion opportunities.
Furthermore, the MMORPG does without dungeons and other instanced group content. Healers and tanks are therefore not as urgently needed as in other games.
Is Black Desert still actively supported? Currently, Black Desert is doing well, although interest in the MMORPG has somewhat declined in recent years.
In April 2022, there was a major expansion with new areas and some PvE content. New classes are also released every year.
For 2023, the next major expansion is coming: Black Desert: New expansion attracts players who actually don’t like the MMORPG – Focuses on more story, less grind
