Yamchu
Why was he Son Goku’s enemy? Before Yamchu met Goku, he was a notorious desert bandit. He lived with Puar in the desert and ambushed travelers. Among these victims were unfortunately Goku, Bulma, and Oolong.
His big dream was to one day collect the Dragon Balls and cure his phobia of girls. Whenever he saw a girl, he turned bright red and froze. Thus, he unfortunately could not fight in the presence of women – let alone marry.
What kind of change did he undergo? While he was pursuing the group to steal the Dragon Balls, he was captured along with them by Prince Pilaf. During the escape, he realized that he could talk to Bulma without passing out.
After the escape, although the Dragon Balls were gone, Yamchu and Bulma became a couple. He left his thieving past behind for Bulma. Even though the two later separated, he remained loyal to Goku and his friends.
