What is it about? The series is based on the children’s books by Swedish author Runer Jonsson. Vicky the Viking is a story where the conflict of “intellect versus brute strength” is at the forefront.
Vicky is a small Viking boy who is actually timid and physically weak, the exact opposite of a real Viking. His father Halvar, the chieftain of the tribe, is huge, loud, and believes that problems are best solved with a sword or brute force.
However, during the raids, they realize that when brute strength fails, Vicky’s ideas provide the spark of salvation. He gets a tingling in his nose and sparks fly, after which he snaps his fingers and presents his idea.
What’s exciting to know? Without the series, there probably would never have been the anime of One Piece. The author Eiichiro Oda attributed his fascination with pirates partly to the anime “Vicky the Viking,” as you can see on Reddit.
